Conditions of your visa

The visa(s) granted to:

Suprima PRADHAN 16 September 1983
are granted subject to the following condition(s): 8501

The holder must maintain adequate arrangements for health insurance while the holder is in
Australia.

Passport Details

The granted visas are linked to the passport numbers that were provided as part of the application.
If any person obtains a new passport after receiving this letter and before the visa is evidenced,
they will need to contact the nearest Immigration office in Australia or overseas to advise the
Department of their new passport details.

When traveling into or out of Australia visa holders should ensure that they carry their current
passport and the passport containing their valid visa. Visa holders unable to present evidence
of their current visa when traveling may experience significant delays at the airport and may be
denied permission to travel back to Australia.

For further information about the required documentary evidence for travel to Australia please
refer to
http://www.immi.gov.au/managing-australias-borders/border-security/travel/documents/index.htm

Evidence of your visa

It is recommended that all visa holders obtain evidence of their visa in their current passport.

They can have evidence of their visa placed into their passport at any of the department’s offshore
offices with visa evidencing facilities. Details of addresses and opening times for these overseas
offices can be found at - http://www.immi.gov.au/contacts/overseas/index.htm

Please note that a copy of this letter is sufficient for visa evidencing purposes.

IMPORTANT - Visa holders should allow at least five working days after presenting their
passport to a departmental office for the evidencing process to be completed.

Visa validity period and multiple travel facility

This visa is valid until 28 November 2011. This visa also allows the holder to leave and enter
Australia as often as they like, while the visa is valid.
-3-

If the visa holder wants to remain in Australia or to travel overseas and return to Australia after
this period they will need to apply for a further valid visa prior to this visa expiring. Information
on visas is available from the department’s website at http://www.immi.gov.au.

It is the visa holder’s responsibility to ensure they maintain their lawful status in Australia and
to have a valid visa and travel document for entry to Australia.

Change of circumstances

Visa holders are reminded that this office must be notified if circumstances change and any
answer given in the application form, or any information given in relation to the application, is
no longer correct. The obligation to notify changes of circumstances extends throughout your
stay in Australia on this visa.

Entitlement to English Language Tuition through Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP)

If an applicant’s visa was approved after payment of the 2nd instalment Visa Application Charge
(VAC), the visa holder is eligible for English language tuition in Australia through the Adult
Migrant English Program (AMEP).

More information about registering for English classes and the location of service providers can
be found on our website at
http://www.immi.gov.au/living-in-australia/help-with-english/index.htm.

The receipt for payment of this charge will need to be shown to the AMEP provider when
enrolling. An electronic receipt for payment is acceptable as evidence of payment for enrolment
purposes.

Travel to Australia

Having been granted visas to enter Australia as migrants, the visa holders must make their own
travel arrangements and pay their own airfares. However, visa holders may be eligible for a
special reduced one-way economy fare, as well as a more generous baggage allowance.

These concessions, which may be available to prospective migrants through the International
Organization for Migration, are the result of negotiations with a large number of international
carriers on designated routes.

To receive more information on International Organization for Migration concessional fares,

baggage allowance and eligibility criteria, please do not hesitate to contact International
Organization for Migration at:

Working in Australia
-4-

The visa allows visa holders to work in Australia without any restriction. However, visa holders
are reminded that neither the decision to grant the visa nor the acceptance of any qualifications
for migration purposes provides any guarantee of employment in Australia. Employment
opportunities in some occupations are limited. Registration and licensing requirements for
particular occupations vary between States and Territories and may change.

Medical costs in Australia

People holding temporary or provisional residence visas are not generally entitled to access
Australia's national medical insurance scheme - Medicare. As medical costs are high, you are
strongly encouraged to obtain private health insurance. Information about private health insurance
is available from the website of the Department of Health and Ageing at http://www.health.gov.au.

Social security payments

Now that your visa has been granted, you need to make adequate financial arrangements to
support yourself while looking for work.

Generally, temporary or provisional residents in Australia cannot receive social security payments.

Checking your visa details

-5-

The Department has developed a new service called Visa Entitlement Verification Online
(VEVO) which allows certain third parties to check your visa information with your consent.
VEVO is found at:
http://www.immi.gov.au/managing-australias-borders/compliance/info-employers/evo-orgs.htm

Through VEVO, you can give your consent to registered third parties such as:

● employers and labour suppliers, to help check whether your visa allows you to work in
Australia
● government agencies, to help assess your eligibility for services
● licensing authorities, to help establish your eligibility for a licence
● educational institutions, to assess whether you can study in Australia.

The disclosure of your visa information by the Department is governed by the Privacy Act 1988.
Therefore, the Department will disclose information about your visa to a third party only with
your consent. You can consent to an inquiry about your visa entitlements by giving the third
party your name, date of birth, passport number and passport country of issue. If you do not
wish a third party to find out about your visa entitlements, do not give them this information.

The information form 993i 'Safeguarding your personal information', available from Immigration
