LWFC Vision

We the members of the Living Word Family Community seek to be a Christ centered community of
individuals and families formed by the inculturated gospel values, praising and loving and serving God
and neighbor working for human transformation with Mary as our mother.

LWFC Mission

Therefore, with the empowerment of the holy spirit and the guidance of the local ecclesiastical
authorities, we commit ourselves to evangelization through the use of various charismatic gifts.

LWFC COVENANT CEREMONY 2018

CORD – is a symbol of UNITY. Just like in marriage there is a cord that binds the husband and wife together
so the cord symbolizes these people will bind themselves together in the Lord that they will belong to one
another.

CANDLE – symbolizes Christ Jesus who is the LIGHT of the WORLD. Christ is and should be in the midst of
this community.

BROTHERS AND SISTERS, BY THE SONG YOU HAVE JUST SUNG YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE LORD IS
CALLING YOU:

FIRST – TO GIVE YOURSELF TO THE LORD

THE LORD IS NOT ASKING YOU MATERIAL THINGS LIKE MONEY, FOOD OR EVEN A PART OF YOUR
TIME. NO! THE LORD IS ASKING YOU TO GIVE YOUR VERY SELF TO HIM.

SECOND – TO SERVE HIM THE WAY HE WANTS YOU TO SERVE HIM

THAT IS, NOT ANYMORE THE WAY YOU LIKE TO SERVE. ANYBODY CAN DO THAT! THE LORD IS
ASKING FOR A COMMITTED SERVICE.

THIRD – TO THIS COMMUNITY

YOUR MEMBERSHIP IN THIS COMMUNITY IS NOT BY ACCIDENT. WE BELIEVE THAT IN GOD’S

KINGDOM. NOTHING HAPPENS BY ACCIDENT. THIS IS GOD’S PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE FROM ALL ETERNITY.

AS YOU RESPOND TO THIS CALL OF THE LORD MAY I ASK YOU TO ANSWER WITH ALL SINCERITY
THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:
 1. ARE YOU AWARE THAT THE GROUP YOU ARE GETTING INTO CALLS FOR A COMMITTED LIFE TO
GOD AND TO ONE ANOTHER?

YES I AM!

2. ARE YOU AWARE THAT THIS COMMUNITY DEMANDS FROM YOU SUBMISSION, OBEDIENCE AND
RESPECT TO IS DULY CONSTITUTED AUTHORITY? THE PASTORAL TEAM?

YES I AM!

3. DO YOU REALIZE THAT AS COVENANTED MEMBERS OF THIS COMMUNITY YOU ARE TO DEVELOP
A DEEPER RELATIONSHIP IN LIVE AMONG YOURSELVES AS BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN THE
LORD?

YES I AM!

4. ARE YOU ARE AWARE THAT AS MEMBERS OF THIS COVENANTED COMMUNITY YOU ARE
EXPECTED NOT ONLY TO CONSOLIDATE THIS COMMUNITY BUT ALSO TO EXPAND IT BY
INTRODUCING THE LORD JESUS TO THOSE WHO DO NOT KNOW HIM AND BY INVITING THEM
TO BECOME A PART OF COMMUNITY FOR THEIR GROWTH?

5. KNOWING ALL THESE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, ARE YOU WILLING TO BIND YOURSELF
TOGETHER WITH THE BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN THIS COMMUNITY?

YES I AM WILLING!

IF INDEED, YOU ARE WILING AND READY, BOW DOWN BEFORE THE LORD IN ALL HUMILITY KNOWING
THAT YOU HAVE NOTHING IN YOU BUT WEAKNESSES. IN SILENCE, PRESENT YOURSELF TO HIM AND TELL
THE LORD YOUR DECISION AND ALL THAT IS IN YOUR HEART.

BROTHERS AND SISTERS, MAY I ASK YOU TO EXTERNALIZE FURTHER YOUR COMMITMENT TO THE LORD
BY GETTING INSIDE THE CORD AS YOU RESPOND TO THE LORD WHO CALLS YOU TO SERVICE.

 BY DEVELOPING A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS THE LORD THROUGH REGULAR QUIET
TIME IN PRAYER AND EUCHARISTIC CELEBRATION, READING AND WITNESSING TO THE
SCRIPTURES AND VISITING THE BLESSED SACRAMENT.
 BY DEVELOPING A FILIAL DEVOTION TO MARY, THROUGH DAILY CONSECRATION AND ROSARY
 BY AVAILING THE SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION AS OFTEN AS NEEDED AND BY OFFERING AT
LEAST ONCE A WEEK FASTING
  BY AVOIDING WITH THE HELP OF GOD’S GRACE, ALL FORMS OF VICE, IMMORALITY AND
INORDINATE ATTACHMENTS.
 BY HUMBLY SUBMITTING TO THE ONE HOLY CATHOLIC APOSTOLIC CHURCH THROUGH HER DULY
ESTABLISHED AUTHORITY IN ALL THE DUTIES OF MY STATE OF LIFE.
 BY BEING OPEN TO THE OPERATIONS OF THE GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

TO LOVE MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS AS JESUS LOVES ME

 BY ACCEPTING MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN THE COMMUNITY AS THEY ARE AS WE MAKE

OURSELVES KNOWN TO ONE ANOTHER IN ALL HUMILITY.

 BY EXAMINING MY CONSIENCE EVERYDAY FOLLOWING THE FORMATION GUIDE AND DELIGENTLY
SHEPHERDING THOSE ASSIGNED TO MY CARE; SUPPORTING THEM BY PRAYER, APPRECIATION,
ENCOURAGEMENT, FRATERNAL CORRECTION, GREETING AND CAMARADERIE TO HELP THEM
GROW INTO CHRIST’S LIKENESS.
 BY GIVING SUFFICIENT TIME TO MY PARTNER IN LIFE AND MY CHILDREN.

TO STRENGTHEN, PRESERVE AND EXPAND THE COMMUNITY AS A FAMILY

 BY FAITHFULLY AND PUNCTUALLY ATTENDING AND ACTIVELY PARTICIPATING IN ALL THE

COMMUNITY ASSEMBLIES AND ACTIVITIES.
 BY REGULARLY AND JOYFULLY GIVING MY TITHES IN TERMS OF TIME, TALENT AND TREASURES.

HEAVENLY FATHER, WE THANK YOU FOR GIVING OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS THE GRACE TO MAKE THIS
COMMITMENT. LORD GOD, WE ASK YOU TO STRENGTHEN OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS. ENABLE THEM
TO WITHSTAND THE DIFFICULTIES AND TRIALS AND THE ATTACKS OF THE ENEMY AS THEY LIVE THEIR
COVENANTED LFE. GIVE THEM THE GRACE OF PERSEVERANCE SO THAT THEY MAY ALWAYS REMAIN
FAITHFUL TO YOU AND TO ONE ANOTHER. BY THE MOVING OF YOUR HOLY SPIRIT IN THEIR DAILY LIVES,
MAKE THEM FAITHFUL AND FRUITFUL MEMBERS OF YOUR KINGDOM. MAY MORE AND MORE PEOPLE
COME TO KNOW YOU, LOVE YOU AND SERVE YOU THROUGH THEM. ALL THESE ASK FATHER AT THE
INTERCESSION OF MARY OUR BLESSED MOTHER AND ALL THE ANGELS AND SAINTS OF HEAVEN. BUT
ABOVE ALL, WE ASK YOU THESE IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST YOUR SON AND LORD, AMEN.

BY MAKING THIS DECISION TO BELING TO HIS COMMUNITY AS CHRISTIANS, YOU HAVE DECIDED TO
ACCEPT CHRIST AS THE CENTER OF YOUR LIVES. AS SUCH, YOU ARE THEREFORE EXPECTED TO MAKE
CHRIST ALWAYS THE FOUNDATION OF YOUR LIVE FOR ONE ANOTHER FROM NOW ON.

AS YOU RELATE WITH EACH OTHER, BRING CHRIST THE LIGHT ALWAYS WITH AND LET JESUS CHRIST IN
YOU RELATE WITH YOUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS. THIS WAY YOU WILL BE A LIGHT TO EACH OTHER. TO
SIGNIFY THIS, YOU SHALL PASS THIS LIGHT TO YOUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS.

and pass this light to the presiding head servant down to the council members and the ministry heads,
group leaders to members.)
