Questions are usually lengthy. It becomes easy to solve provided u draw the Venn diagram and note
down the information given in question.

1. Of the 200 candidates who were interviewed for a position at a call center, 100 had a two-wheeler, 70
had a credit card and 140 had a mobile phone. 40 of them had both, a two-wheeler and a credit card, 30
had both, a credit card and a mobile phone and 60 had both, a two wheeler and mobile phone and 10
had all three. How many candidates had none of the three?

2. In a class 40% of the students enrolled for Math and 70% enrolled for Economics. If 15% of the
students enrolled for both Math and Economics, what % of the students of the class did not enroll for
either of the two subjects?

3. Among a group of students, 50 played cricket, 50 played hockey and 40 played volley ball. 5 played
both cricket and hockey, 10 played both hockey and volley ball, 5 played cricket and volley ball and 10
played all three. If every student played at least one game, find the number of students and how many
played only cricket, only hockey and only volley ball?

Direction for questions 4 to 6 :In a survey conducted at a University, it was found that 51% of the
students wanted to learn French as a foreign language, 48% wanted to learn German and 52%
wanted to learn Russian.
Of the surveyed students, 21% wanted to learn both French and German, 23% wanted German and
Russian and 24% wanted French and Russian. Only 12% wanted to learn all three languages. A
total of 500 students were surveyed.
4. How many students wanted to learn only German?
5. What is the number of students interested in French and Russian only?
6. How many more students (apart from those who wanted to learn French and Russian only) were
interested in either French or Russian?
Direction for questions 7 and 8 : At the annual sports meet, 106 sportsmen participated in hockey,
122 in football and 120 in cricket. It is known that 48 participated in hockey and football and 70 in
football and cricket. A total of 200 sportsmen participated in the meet.

7. If 10 sportsmen did not participate in any sport and 54 participated in hockey and cricket, how
many participated in all three?
8. How many sportsmen did not participate in either cricket or football?

9. A certain school has three performing arts extracurricular activities: Band, Chorus, or
Drama. Students must participate in at least one, and may participate in two or even in all
three. There are 120 students in the school. There are 70 students in Band, 73 in the
Chorus, and 45 in the Drama. Furthermore, 37 students are in both the Band and Chorus,
20 are in both the Band and the Drama, and 8 students are in all three groups. Twenty-five
students are just in the chorus, not in anything else. How many students participate in
only the drama?

clients,115 use Television,110 use Radio and 130 use Magazines. Also 85 use Television

three. Draw Venn diagram to represent these data. Find
