 What is the movie all about?

The movie is all about a story of leadership and friendship. It shows how two

young men with different personalities and leadership styles had their own chance

in leading in the 918th Bomb Group. In the movie, it was later revealed that one

man’s obsession with discipline caused the entire group to suffer losses, morality,

and poor crew management. Thus, making them rebuild the pride of the crew who

despises its leader.

 How did the movie portray strategic bombing?

The movie portrayed strategic bombing as their number one choice of plan to defeat

the Germans from dropping bombs from above during WWI.

 What is strategic bombing? Why did the U.S. Army Force rely on strategic

bombing? How did the U.S. Army Air Force conduct its strategic bombing

campaign?

Strategic bombing is concept of warfare and is an effective strategy that’s been

sustained by modern technology advancements. The U.S. Force relied in strategic


bombing because it was effective and they wanted to obtain air superiority during

WWII by delivering strategic attacks, which could easily eliminate ground battle,

and to reduce casualties. And they distinguished day and night battles.

 What differentiate American strategic bombing from the British strategic

bombing?

The difference between American and British strategy is that, the British used a

different strategic bombing idea and that was to maintain the offensive in the

air that had the objective of defeating the enemy by dominance as well as the moral

aspect of warfare.

 How does strategic bombing reflect an industrial power’s approach to war?

This made the industrial power in America more popular since they had the

technological advancements and the quantity of planes produced used through

strategic bombings. This made the approach to war steady and at the same time

dynamic.

 Did strategic bombing achieve its goal during the Second World War II?

The strategic bombing achieved it’s goal by limiting the increase of German

armaments production, which made the German output fall drastically.

 What was the cost of the strategic bombing? How did strategic bombing

affect the course of war?

Once of the cost of strategic bombing is that it was costly in terms of equipment’s

and machines and a lot of pilots were killed or prisoned. But above all, it affected a

lot of innocent civilians, which made them realize that it was a failure in the end.
