Internships
• May-July 2009 : Summer Analyst (Technology Division) at Goldman Sachs,
Bangalore.
– Wrote an automation script in the TcL based scripting language EXPECT to automate a
time-consuming network troubleshooting process. Estimated savings of 120
hours/month were observed as a result of the script.
– Created an interactive webpage that Network Engineers could use to send e-mail
notifications to other departments about maintenance activities scheduled on the
network. Notifications sent were logged.

• May-July 2008 : Summer Intern at the Centre for Applied Research in Electronics

Serially interfaced a flash memory with TI's MSP430(FG4619) microcontroller to develop a
data logging application.

Major Projects
• Windows based GUI for QNAT - a queueing network analyzer. (Bachelor Thesis)
The project involves the redesign of the entire front-end interface of QNAT using VB .NET.

Project Status: Ongoing (started August 2009)
• Zigbee based Wireless Occupant Counter Control Switch (OCCS).
An OCCS is a power saving application that switches ON electrical appliances in a room only
when there is someone present. The design consisted of a people-counting mechanism
(using a dual-IR beam) at the entrance of the room, interfaced with a TRIAC switch
wirelessly through Zigbee Compliant MICAZ motes.

Project Status: Completed (April 2009).
• Signal Estimation in the presence of additive white Gaussian noise.
A 3-tap wiener filter was designed using Analog Devices' ADSP-2191 processor to estimate
a signal corrupted by the presence of Gaussian noise. To simulate the effect of a
communication channel, a Gaussian waveform was generated by the processor, and added
to an input sinusoid. The filtered signal was output as a reconstruct of the input signal.

Technical Skills

NesC, MSP430 Assembly, familiar with CGI-PERL and HTML.
Operating Systems: Windows 9x/2000/XP, Linux, TinyOS.
Software: MATLAB, LTSpice, IAR Embedded Workbench for MSP430.

Positions of Responsibility Held

• Head, Publication Subcommitte1, IIT Guwahati (2008-09).
– Led a team of 7 permanent and 27 non-permanent members to bring out several
magazines and newsletters over the course of the academic year.
– Participated in debates and discussions about student policies in the Students'
Gymkhana Council (The highest decision making student body in IIT Guwahati).
• Captain, Hostel Field Hockey Team, IIT Guwahati (2009).
Led the 16-member team to a Gold medal in the Annual Inter Hostel Sports Meet 2009.
• Hostel Library Secretary, IIT Guwahati (2007-08).
Responsible for updating and maintaining the hostel library.

Achievements
• Ranked among the top 0.5% students IIT-JEE 2006 examination for entrance into the IITs.
• Awarded The Science honour (“Vigyan Chhatra Samman”) by The Council for Science and
Technology, Government of Uttar Pradesh, India.(2006)
• Record 5-time recipient of the Rev. Fr. Romano merit scholarship awarded to outstanding
students at school level.(2001,2002,2003,2004,2005)
• Recipient of the NCC Sahara scholarship for the year 2003. The NCC scholarship is awarded
to 3 meritorious students every year from each state across India.

Extra Curricular Activities

• I was an integral part of IIT Guwahati's field hockey squad in the 43rd Inter IIT sports meet
held at IIT Bombay(December 2007).
• I was a member of the championship winning football (soccer) team at the IIT Guwahati
Annual Inter Hostel Sports Meet (2008, 2009).
• I am a National Cadet Corps (NCC) ‘A’ certificate holder with the rank of “Corporal”. The
NCC ‘A’ certificate is awarded after the completion of two years of intensive scout training
(2002-2003).
• Part of the writing team for Techniche ’07 2, where my job included writing articles for the
print media, as well as preparing press releases on behalf of the Techniche organizers.
• I am an active quizzer, having participated in several general knowledge quizzes held in the
region. (Winner - Techniche '08, Finalist - OIL India Quiz, IMS Quiz, Techniche '07 Quiz).
