Job Title:Senior Consultant / Manager

Location:Delhi / Mumbai

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ADVISORY SERVICES (FMAS)

The finance function needs to be aligned to business strategy, and provide financial analysis
and insight to support corporate decision making, while also meeting legal and regulatory
requirements as a given statute. With a global network of professionals, FMAS is able to
bring the right people, with the right skills, to the right place at the right time to assist
helping organizations to become leaders in finance. Aimed at helping to maximize the
finance function's performance and increase its value to the business, KPMG provides a
range of Financial Management services under our four service networks:

Efficient Finance Operations - An efficient finance function helps identify and deliver
specific improvements in order to unlock value and resources thus freeing up time for
improved decision support activities. It is founded on a robust platform of integrated
operational/transactional finance activities.

Effective Decision Support - This service network helps clients deliver a fit-for-purpose
financial planning and performance management framework in order to help the business to
make better decisions.

Finance Strategy and Transformation - Finance Strategy and Transformation helps a


client to define the role of finance in driving the strategic business imperatives. It helps the
CFO to clearly articulate its Finance vision and strategy, analyze the performance of the
finance function, and develop a future state operating model that is fit for purpose.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Senior Consultant / Assistant Managerwill play the role of being team members in
various Financial Management Advisory Services (FMAS) engagements as part of the larger
Management Consulting Team at KPMG

The nature of engagements would consist of

o Finance Process Optimization

o Quality book close & Integrated Reporting,

o Finance Function Benchmarking,

o EBITDA improvement

ADVISORY

o Working Capital Management,

o Cost Management,

o Financial Information Management,

o Enterprise Performance Management,

o Planning Budgeting & Forecasting,

o Finance integration & separation,

o Finance organization design,

o Finance target operating model and Finance transformation.

 On certain engagements Senior Consultants will be expected to play the role of team
leaders with 1 - 3 team members reporting to them for the project
 Remain current on developments in the economy – specifically in areas of finance
 Demonstrate technical capabilities and professional knowledge
 Possess good understanding of finance processes in a corporate environment
 Regular interaction with senior client personnel for delivering engagements
 Work in a dynamic business environment and willing to adapt to different industries on a
continuous basis
 Meet stringent quality of engagement delivery through thorough and meticulous
planning and execution of the tasks assigned
 Plan out work for oneself and reporting team members where relevant
 Conduct research, read thought leadership and knowledge repositories on a regular basis
to deliver as per engagement requirements
 Monitor progress of work against the engagement plan
 Maintain documentation as per required KPMG quality standards
 Prepare the required deliverables in the format agreed with the Engagement Manager
and client

THE INDIVIDUAL

 Strong understanding or demonstrated experience in some of the areas of core finance


processes such as Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Record to Report, Plan to Perform,
Planning & Budgeting, Financial Reporting & Consolidation, Taxation, Treasury, Fixed
Assets, Working Capital Management, Business Finance, etc

 Demonstrated experience in some or all of the following areas is desirable - Product (or
services) costing, activity based costing, dimensional costing, activity based
management, inter organizational cost management

ADVISORY

 Knowledge of business & finance modelling

 Good interpersonal, negotiation skills and ability to effectively influence various levels of
management

 Understanding of control rationalization, optimization, effectiveness and efficiency

 Strong written and verbal communication skills

 Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Possess strong data analytics skills and
knowledge of advanced data analytical tools will be an advantage

 Developed leadership skills with the ability to collaborate & influence across the matrix
and without direct authority

 Have demonstrated experience process improvement projects

 Demonstrate integrity, values, principles and strong work ethic

 Have the ability to work under pressure – stringent deadlines and tough client conditions
which may demand periodical extended working hours

 Open to travel within India or abroad for continuous long periods of time

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

 Should be CA / CPA / ICWA / CIMA

 MBA as additional qualification will be preferred

 Good understanding of ERP systems (Oracle/SAP) and knowledge of financial reporting


applications & tools will be an advantage

 Expert knowledge of MS office ( MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc)

 Overall 5 to 8 years of professional experience with minimum 3 years of post-


qualification working experience in finance function in industry
