SASBE 2018 SYDNEY focuses on sustainable
planning, urban design and architecture for
tomorrows cities. Smart cities, or cities that are
developed with help of data driven design
approaches, are an important focus point of the
conference.

This edition of the SASBE conference adds to the

existing portfolio. The official language for the
conference is English. A post conference book
will include invited contributions.
The Smart and Sustainable Built Environment
(SASBE) journal, published by Emerald Group
Publishing Limited, will publish a double special
issue with the theme of the conference, in which
revised versions of SASBE 2018 SYDNEY best
papers are invited for publication.
The SASBE 2018 SYDNEY conference is THE
opportunity to exchange information, network
with companies in the field, develop research
contacts and encounter business expertise.
SASBE 2018 is the sixth in a global conferences
series and will return to Australia, previous
editions being organised in Australia (2003),
China (2006), The Netherlands (2009), Brazil
(2012) and South Africa (2015).
At global level CIB (International Council for
Research and Innovation in Building and
Construction) Working Commission 116 hosts
the conference. The current Australian edition is
hosted at the University of Technology Sydney
(UTS), chaired by Prof. Dr. Rob Roggema (UTS)
and will be held between 4 and 7 December 2018,
in Sydney. A technical tour is being planned
depending availability and demand for 7.12.18
