Hari ini tanggal 14 feb 2014 merupakan hari ke 14 bulann phalguna yang bertepatan dengan hari raya

siwarartri. Pada hari yang sangat bertuah ini umat hindu terutama dari sekte siwa melakukan tapa maha
siwaratri berupa puasa penuhdan tidak tidur sampai keesokan harinya. Ada cerita yang sangat terkenal
yang melatarbelangi siwaratri ini yaiyu cerita lubdhaka. Dikisahkan lubdhaka ini pada suatu hari pergi
berburu ke hutan. Seharian dia mencari binatang buruan tetapi tidak satupun yang berhasik ditemui. Dia
tidak putus asa walaupun hari menjelang sore hari dia tetap berburu. Vishnu Tatwa seperti ekadasi dan
janmastami. Pada waktu malam ada 4 puja yang dapat dilakukan di rumah di temple ataupun bagi
mereka yang melakukan puasa tidak tidur (jagarana)

Dimanapun lingga dewa siwa ditemukan di planet bumi ini pada waktu malam hari ke
empat belas saat malam hari di bulan Phalguna, dewa siwa pemimpin para dewa masuk
ke lingga tsb. Untuk alasan ini hari ini dinamakan siwaratri dan hari ini sangat di kasihi
oleh Tuhan Sri Hari.

14th of February 2018 is Maha Shivaratri (Shiva Chaturdashi).

Gaudiya Vaishnavas fast for the pleasure of Shri Hari in honor of His expansion Lord Sada Shiva. Rules for fasting is the same as in other fasting days of Vishnu Tattva like Ekadashis and
Janmashtami. Throughout the night there are 4 pujas that can be performed at home, in the temple or mentally for Lord Shiva for those doing Jagarana (staying awake at night).
