YOU MUST FOLLOW THIS in all ASSIGNMENTS

1. Each assignment will have a set of Tasks and Learning Outcomes from these tasks.
Our responsibility is to answer Pass, Merit and Distinction criteria in these Tasks.
Learning Outcomes don’t have to be answered as such, they are just for reference
showing us what has to be achieved from these Tasks.

2. There will be one file containing the Assignment Brief and remaining are support
materials which should be thoroughly used as the teachers tend to send back for
rework otherwise. If the materials are not provided, Login details will be given
sometimes, please refer to the class material as the teacher will fail if class stuff is not
referred to and used.

3. If the requirement wants to talk about a specific company, please always verify if the
one you are choosing is what the student wants. It should preferably be a UK based
company. For Business Assignments, unless required otherwise in BRIEF, you must
use UK based companies, or companies that are Operating in UK atleast. We don’t
need stuff from INDIA specially.

4. THESE ASSIGNMENTS HAVE TO BE DONE WITH A VERY SPECIFIC AND

TO THE POINT APROACH, GENERAL THEORY IS NOT ACCEPTED AND
HAS A HIGH PROBABILITY OF FAIL. ALL has to be applied on a company
chosen. Give arguments pros and cons make it look as the student is giving his
opinion as well. Follow the GUIDE very closely. Main problem is lack of analysis,
too much theory with no backup, talk about organisations and not in general.

5. It`s important that the assignment is easy to read and understand – the reader should
be able to easily identify where the relevant answers are, all the assessors wants is to
identify where about exactly Student attempted at least for PASS – if assessor cannot
identify the answers, student fails to PASS. Please see the sample on how the work
needs to be structured exactly as in the assignment brief in Tasks and Sub Tasks. Give
full headings as in the sample. Here is the structure all assignments should follow:
1. Table of content – in its own page
2. Introduction- in its own page
3. Assignment body- each new task in its own new page
4. Task title must be as in the Brief!!!
5. Conclusion- on its own page
6. References- separate page

6. Divide by Assignment Requirements, not by GRADING criteria –

PASS/MERIT/DISTINCTION – the grading criteria only tells you what you must do
achieve those, but when you divide the assignment it should be divided with respect
to tasks only.

1
7. You can give outstanding answers for Distinction criteria in some parts, but if points
are missed for PASS criteria, students will definitely receive a resubmission. So PASS
criteria is very very important and first priority always.

8. INTRODUCTION AND CONCLUSION should be around 10 lines each – to

maximum half page and not more than that, unless otherwise required in the BRIEF.
(these are not included in word count specified in the Assignment Brief and should be
separately added to the total word count estimates)

9. Please make sure Introduction, Each of the Tasks, Conclusion and References start on
a new page.

10. Use references published after year 2012 until really necessary to use older ones.
REFERENCES at the end should be in Alphabetic Order.

11. Use diagrams, graphs, charts as much as possible.

12. For PPT - use a good professional design, add TOC, Intro, Conclusion and References
slides.
1. First slide – student name and ID
2. Table of content
3. Introduction
4. Next slides will cover the presentation – images-diagrams-statistics
5. Conclusion
6. References

13. Need PRESENTATION SLIDES copy pasted in the REPORT AS WELL as all must
be checked for plagiarism including presentation slides as one single file. Just right
click on each slide, copy and paste in the report at the relevant section.

14. When you are doing SWOT and PEST analysis: Put these 4 in a table with 4 cells -
put you answers in the cells. Now under the table you must briefly explain the content
why you have chosen whatever is there.

15. Case study: When you got case study - you must talk only about the case study, do not
go about other stuff which is irrelevant. Apply all your answers to the case study.

16. Definitions: Always give definitions in own words and put the relevant in-text
reference. Do not give direct quoted definitions.

17. Always check the Font style, spacing, headings - assignments have to be written as
required in the Brief! Use paragraphs and hit TAB key make for alignment.

18. Images, diagrams and statistics are very important where necessary, without those the
Assignment has good chances of Resubmit/FAIL!
