GUIDELINES TO INSTALL THE SOFTWARES :

1) AVR STUDIO OR ATMEL STUDIO :

NOTE : It is recommended to install the ATMEL Studio 7 for
uniformity during the workshop. Also ATMEL Studio 7 is the lastest
version by ATMEL Corporation.
a) ATMEL studio 7 :
Directly install the ‘as-installer-7.0.582-full.exe’ file in the folder ‘Atmel
Studio 7’ to install the software.

b) ATMEL Studio 6.2 :

Directly install the ‘AStudio62betaNet.exe’ file in the ‘Atmel Studio 6.2’
folder to install the software by clicking on the file.
c) AVR Studio 4.17 :
In the folder of AVR Studio 4.17, there are two softwares, the one is the
main ‘AvrStudio417Setup.exe’ file of the AVR Studio 4.17 and the other is
the ‘WinAVR-20090313-install.exe’ which is used to support the platform.
So both have to be installed for the AVR Studio 4.17 to be installed properly.

2) DIPTRACE SOFTWARE :
There isn’t a need to install the software as such. You can directly go to the
folder ‘Diptrace Software’ and click on the ‘Pcb.exe’ (with a green icon) file
to open the software.
3) EXTREME BURNER :
The software can be directly installed by clicking on
‘eXtremeBurnerAVRSetup13B.exe’ file in the Extreme Burner folder.

4) PROGRAMMER DRIVERS :
FOR WINDOWS XP OR WINDOWS 7 :
a) For installing the drivers firstly connect the programmer ‘USBasp’ to
the USB port of the laptop.
b) It will show a notification saying “Found New Hardware” in the right
corner of the laptop.
c) Then go to the device manager and right click on the yellow icon with
a warning mark.
d) Click on the update driver and select ‘Browse from the computer for
software’
e) Give the path of the entire folder ‘Programmer Drivers (USBasp)’ for
32 bit as well as 64 bit configuration and click next.
f) The drivers will automatically get updated.

FOR WINDOWS 8 OR WINDOWS 10 :

a) For installing the drivers firstly connect the programmer ‘USBasp’ to
the USB port of the laptop.
b) It will show a notification saying “Found New Hardware” in the right
corner of the laptop.
c) Then go to the device manager and right click on the yellow icon with
a warning mark.
d) Click on the update driver and select ‘Browse from the computer for
software’
e) Give the path of the entire folder ‘Programmer Drivers (USBasp)’ for
32 bit as well as 64 bit configuration and click next.
f) The drivers will get automatically updated.
NOTE : If there is an error related to the signature enforcement then follow
the following steps. The error regarding signature enforcement occurs mainly
for Windows 8 and Windows 10.
1) Go to the ‘Change Advanced StartUp Settings’ of the laptop. It will say
you to restart the laptop.
2) Now there will be a screen where there will be a few options to choose
from. Hence click on the Troubleshoot.
3) There’s a screen with some options now. So click on the Start Up settings.
4) Now in the start up settings there are various options. From these options
you need to disable the signature enforcement.
5) Hence select the option to disable the signature enforcement and start the
laptop.
6) Once the laptop is ON, again update the driver following the steps from
‘a’ to ‘f’ as mentioned above.
7) The drivers should get updated.
8) Once you update the driver you can again enable the Signature
Enforcement from the Advance start up settings.
