Name of the Business Unit
UltraTech Cement Limited, A P Cement Works(APCW) is one of the best capacity utilized cement
plants, is located on the picturesque hilly area near Tadipatri at the border line between Anantapur and
Kurnool Districts in Rayalseema area of Andhra Pradesh.

APCW is a magnificent testimony of the Group's ability to transform the rocky terrains into a place of
gigantic cement manufacturing unit, which is a jewel in the crown of the fast growing Aditya Birla
Cement Group. APCW manufacturers a wide range of premium brand of cements. The plant with an
installed Capacity of 2.00 MTPA was commissioned in April 1998 and has been upgraded to 2.70 MTPA
over a period of six years through several improvements / modifications. The plant was expanded in
2008 by adding another 3.40 MTPA to its existing capacity and is today considered as one of the largest
capacity plant at a single location in India. The unit has also established a Thermal Power Plant of 2 X
25 MW capacity to cater Cement plant's Power requirement.

Tadipatri, which is an ancient temple town, is located in Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh.  The total
area of the plant is about 1800 acres. APCW is located 360 kms South of Hyderabad in the state of
Andhra Pradesh in South India. Along with its Grinding Units at Arakonam(Tamil Nadu) & Ginigera
(Karnataka) it has a capacity of 8.00 million tones of cement per annum. The Unit is certified for Quality,
Environment, OHSAS & NABL management systems.

APCW's Manpower Strength as on date is 620 (Management, Staff and permanent workmen).

To conduct condition monitoring with NDT of all critical equipments such as Gear Boxes & motors, oil
analysis for enhancing lubricants life. To reduce maintenance cost by avoiding breakdowns through
condition monitoring. Conducting other NDT activities like ultrasonic flaw detection, hardness and
thickness measurement etc. Implementation of WCM activities, ensure Safety & KAIZEN
implementation in the department.
