Department of Defense
DoD Education Activity
In the nearly four years that I have been in the Army, I have become proficient in the use of office
productivity software which provides an edge on my peers who are unfamiliar with
technology. Also, unlike many peers at my age, I have been personally in charge with briefs and
classes that involved large audiences, non-commissioned officers, subject matter expert warrant
officers, and high ranking commissioned officers up to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. I have also
created Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to increase the efficiency in the System
Administration environment. The culmination of all these experiences has provided me the ability
to analyze information of a topic that I am unfamiliar with and disseminate and instruct a wide
variety of audiences; this is an important skill that educators must inherit to be successful and
thrive in a classroom environment.
Finally, from a security perspective, I have guarded and maintained Top Secret equipment for
extended periods of time. I have also been trained on the importance of protecting Personally
Identifiable Information (PII) and other business sensitive information. I have also been teaching
the Caserma Ederle High School youth in a volunteer status since March of 2017, which required
extensive interviewing by the Department of Defense. I am welcome to constructive criticism and
have the tenacity necessary to accommodate to the needs of the corporate entity. Thank you very
much for your time and consideration. I look forward to discussing this opportunity in the near
future.
Best Regards,
Alan Potter
