Temper, Temper,
Temper, Moses!

Num 12:3
(Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of
the earth.)
Moses was quite a man! To be meek you must suppress the flesh, be
gentle in mind and realize you are a needy person. Only a needy person will
look to Christ for their needs. When you don’t feel you have needs, then you
think of yourself as a self-sufficient person. Moses knew that in his flesh he was
nothing, but he also knew that looking to God for leadership and power, he would
be able to do great things. Moses’ ministry gave us the law, which is for the flesh.
Elijah’s ministry showed us God’s power through man, which showed us the pos-
sibilities of the spirit. The Lord Jesus Christ’s ministry provides for the saving
of the soul, which makes us acceptable to God and provides us with Eternal Life.
Revelations speaks about when the overcomers get to heaven, they will sing the
song of Moses and the song of the Lamb. The first verse we will sing about the
law, and the second verse will be all about grace and truth! Moses spoke often of
the coming of the Son of God. Jesus spoke often of Moses. Jesus said if they had
believed Moses, they would have believed Him. Jesus said Moses was faithful
in ALL his house, as Jesus was faithful in all His house. The difference was, that
Jesus built all the houses! Outside of the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, Moses
was spoken of as the meekest man that ever lived. YET, Moses had feet of clay,
just like you and I have. Moses was not a perfect man as Jesus was, but he had a
great testimony.

MONTHLY REPORT
We need to begin by apologizing for being so late to the bank with the
love gifts this year. We will try to never do that again. We also want to say thanks
to the new ones who have given lately. We so appreciate your gifts. Everything
in this work is cash only. If God doesn’t supply, we don’t go forward. The Lord
has been so good to provide the needs of this work and our personal needs. If the
Lord is with you, He will provide for you.
For many months God has given me unusual strength, but today I am
having difficulty breathing. I realize that the Lord has shown me great mercy
these last 12 years, in keeping me on my feet and being able to minister to others.
Thank you so much for your prayers.
Easter is here and we remember just what the resurrection means to us.
My heart is heavy for those who do not understand that there is life after this life.
What a hope we have as Christians to look forward to. My heart condition has
made me take a closer look at the promise of resurrection.
Thank you for the sweet letters you have sent telling us what the paper
has meant to you. They are very encouraging.
If this paper is a few days late, it is because God has supplied a new print-
ing machine to Bro. Larry and Judy Connor and they have to go to Beaumont,
Texas, to pick it up. The Connors are such a blessing to this work. It took us
almost a week to print and put the paper out before they took it over. They do it
in a couple of days. Ladies from our church help put it together.
As many of you know, our church parsonage burned to the ground last
October. Our pastor and all his family were able to get out of the house safely,
but there was no time to take personal things out with them. Our insurance made
it possible to buy another home which is a great deal better. God has put it on the
hearts of people to give everything they have needed. Two weeks ago they were
able to move in to their new home and again get back to normal. Thank you for
your prayers for them during this trying time, which God, through your prayers,
has turned to a blessing.
Welcome to the newcomers. We hope this will encourage your walk with
the Lord.

difference being that God’s anger was a righteous anger. God tells man to be
angry and sin not. In our anger, most always, we react in the flesh with the wrong
attitude.
Num 20:8-13
8 Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy
brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his
water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give
the congregation and their beasts drink.
9 And Moses took the rod from before the Lord, as he commanded him.
10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and
he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?
11 And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the
water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.
12 And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to
sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not
bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.
13 This is the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the
Lord, and he was sanctified in them.
Most every time we miss a blessing, it’s because we bring it upon our-
selves by our actions and attitudes. God, in His mercy allowed Moses to see the
promised land, but he was not allowed to enter. Moses was soon to be with the
Lord and that’s a lot better than the promised land! But there does come a time
when God says, “That’s enough”! Even to the best of men, comes the righteous
judgment of God. God is not a respecter of persons. God’s ways are equal. It
is our ways that are unequal. When we preach, “Be sure your sins will find you
out,” we are speaking to ourselves as well as others. Moses was a GREAT MAN
OF GOD, but just like you and I, he had FEET OF CLAY!
Deut 32:49-52
49 Get thee up into this mountain Abarim, unto mount Nebo, which is in the land
of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give
unto the children of Israel for a possession:
50 And die in the mount whither thou goest up, and be gathered unto thy people;
as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered unto his people:
51 Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of
Meribah-Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the
midst of the children of Israel.
52 Yet thou shalt see the land before thee; but thou shalt not go thither unto the

INSPIRATIONS Is it easy for a woman to work through a man’s position when he is not show-
ing spiritual leadership? NO, it is not easy, but it is required for us to share our
thoughts without forsaking respect for who they are. Is it easy for a man to lead
a woman? NO, it is not easy. A woman who is angered can be a very dangerous

I’ve often wondered what it would be like to be Moses’ mother. She did
raise three leaders. She didn’t get to see the promised land, but she did raise three

Miriam was the young lady who was watching to see what would happen

With the resurrection of Jesus fresh on the minds of the Apostles, they watched
Jesus ascend into heaven and heard the promise given, that they would receive
power after the Holy Ghost came upon them. They gathered together in the upper
room, as commanded, and waited until they were endued with power from on
high. Acts 2 then becomes the most pivotal chapter for New Testament Christi-
anity, because once the Spirit came from the Father, the Apostle’s message was
that of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, according to the scriptures. (Acts2:29-
32, 3:26, 4:10-12) These Apostles were gospel preachers and they emphasized
and amplified the resurrection. It was the resurrection of Jesus Christ that made
the difference in the gospel message. Many men and prophets had died for their
beliefs, but none had resurrected. This was the cornerstone of Christianity in the
early church. It is the Risen Savior that is our Cornerstone even today. The gospel
has not changed. The Apostle Paul expounds on the resurrection in I Corinthians
15. It is here that we find that blessed hope of one day raising from the dead and
receiving a glorified body like that of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The
Apostles were preachers of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
II Timothy 2:2 –And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses,
the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. Paul
taught Timothy, Timothy taught faithful men, and we are the others also. Do not
take the doctrine of the resurrection of Jesus, according to the scriptures, lightly.
It is here, in the charge to Timothy, that we learn of the preservers of the doctrine
of the resurrection. The same was committed unto us by faithful men. Our duty
and responsibility is to carry the torch of the gospel high so that others will be
drawn to the Person of the resurrection, who is the Resurrection and the Life, the
Lord Jesus Christ. If we do not preach the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who will?
We have been given the Word of God that will stand forever because of the risen
Christ, so that we may teach others also.
In conclusion, as Jesus was standing outside the grave of His friend Lazarus, He
said to Martha, “Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou should-
est see the glory of God?” In light of the resurrection, the emptiness of the tomb,
we see the glory of God. As children of God, we one day will look back upon our
own empty tomb, and it is there that we will stand in awe of the glory of God.
O death, where is thy sting? O grave where is thy victory? The sting of death is
sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be unto God, which giveth us
the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Do you believe in the risen Saviour?

There is no mention of their parents when they left Egypt. We assume they were
dead by this time. But were they dead when Moses fled from Pharaoh and lived
away 40 years? We don’t know, but if his mother was alive, don’t you know she
missed him those 40 years.
If you will notice, most of the stories in the Bible speak about people
who have UNUSUAL things in their lives. What is there about your life that you
feel is unusual? We often get scared when things don’t go as planned. That is
where we must trust and obey. It must have been hard to be Moses’ mother. I
am very protective when it comes to my children and I always wanted them in
my eyesight so I could be sure they were safe. We didn’t leave our children with
a babysitter very often, and if we did, it was usually mine or Jerry’s parents. It
would have been very difficult for me to wean one of my children and then give
them to someone else to raise! I’m sure that Pharaoh’s daughter let Moses do
things his parents would not have allowed. I would find it very hard to watch a
child of mine living a lifestyle I did not agree with. How would she ever make
an Israelite out of her son after all the Egyptian philosophy he had been taught?
She didn’t have to change him, God put it in his heart to be with his people. I tell
you, if it were left up to us we would never do things the way God does. That is
why it is so important to trust God with the things we cannot change.
A whole nation looked to this woman’s three children during the hardest
time of their nation. If she were alive when they were leaving Egypt she would
have been so thankful for what God did with her children.
Miriam was the leader of the women’s choir! She encouraged everyone
through music. Music is how you praise and lift up the name and the person of
God, and how we give sacrifices of praise to our God. Her place was very im-
portant. She was called a prophetess (Ex. 15:20), and yet there came a time that
Miriam and Aaron resented Moses ruling as the leader. They felt they knew God
as well as he did and that they were not inferior to him when it came to serving
God. Moses had married an Ethiopian woman, which would be a black woman
(Num 12). They disagreed with him and challenged his leadership (position).
God did not deal with what Moses had done; He dealt with what Aaron and Miri-
am were doing. Don’t stand against God’s man! God called the man in marriage
to be in charge of the marriage union and it is destructive to attempt to change
what God has established. Our rulers do not always use good judgment and God
didn’t say that Aaron and Miriam did not have the right to give their opinions. It
was the fact that they were not wanting to respect Moses as God’s leader.
Why did God put leprosy on Miriam and not Aaron? Well, the Bible

 Resurrection
“And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I
had with thee before the world was.” John 17:5
Jesus, here in John 17, is praying in the garden just hours before he was to be cru-
cified. Knowing that death was imminent, He began to agonize in prayer for the
glory that He had with the Father before the world was. In this verse we see the
eternal Sonship of Jesus Christ. He was one with the Father before the world was
created. We read in the book of Revelation, that Jesus is the Lamb slain before
the foundation of the world was laid. So in dealing with His resurrection, let’s go
back to the book of beginnings, called Genesis. It is here in the first chapter of
the Bible that God set forth the context in which he would reveal to us His full
glory and might. In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. (out of
nothing) (Gen.1:1) The creating power of God contains the power to resurrect the
dead when out of nothing, He created everything.
He set in creation, within nature, the principle of resurrection. We know that the
seasons were ordained by God; spring, summer, autumn and winter. In the early
days of autumn, the vegetation begins to die. By the first day of winter, most
vegetation is “dead”. In early spring, everyone witnesses the “resurrection” of the
vegetation here on earth. The trees begin to blossom and leaves begin to spring
forth. The annual flowers begin to grow and bloom again. And within just a few
short weeks, that which was dead to the observer is alive and growing and beauti-
ful once again. God, in his omniscience, set forth the principle of the resurrection
in the context of creation. We cannot be caught “off guard” by that principle when
we see Jesus rise again at the end of the gospels, because we have all witnessed
that principle every year in the changing of the seasons. Each day, He sets forth
the resurrection principle in the rising and setting of the sun. Each month, He sets
forth the resurrection principle in the waxing and waning of the moon. The whole
of creation cries out the “glory of God.” (Psalm 19:1-6) We are without excuse,
as Paul states in Romans 1:20, “For the invisible things of him from the creation
of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even
his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:”
Not only does God give us nature as a witness, He gave us a book called
the Bible. Within the pages of scriptures, the Old Testament, we see pictures,
prophecies and promises of the death, burial, resurrection, ascension, intercession
and reign of Jesus Christ. (Job 19:25-27, Ps. 16:8-11, Is. 26:19, Dan. 12:2, Hos.
13:14) Here are a few pictures in the Old Testament concerning the resurrection:

the dead as a guarantee that others would follow in His resurrection – Lev. 23:9-
14 w/ I Cor. 15:20-23)

These are but a few pictures that God ordained in the pages of the scriptures, for
us to observe and believe.
The power of the resurrection is proven by Jesus Christ during his earthly min-
istry. Jesus himself raised people from the dead. As far as we can read, only two
other men in the Old Testament raised the dead, Elijah and Elisha. The Jewish
mind would have immediately recognized that Jesus was sent from God, when
Jesus himself raised Lazarus and others from the dead. No man can do these
miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. (Jn. 3:2, Jn.11, Lk.7:11-15,
8:41-42, 49-50)
The person of the resurrection is Jesus Christ. Before raising Lazarus from the
dead, Jesus declared, “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in
me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:” (Jn.11:25). So with the principle of
the resurrection set in the context of creation, the many pictures on the pages of
scriptures and Jesus being the resurrection and the life, it is not hard to believe
that on the third day after His burial, the grave was empty. The angels asked the
women in Luke 24:5, “Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here,
but is risen:” The women remembered the words of Jesus, how that He said He
would rise again and meet them in Galilee, so they left to go and tell the disciples
that Jesus was risen. There is no room for doubting the resurrection if you believe
that Jesus is the Son of God. God cannot be killed or destroyed. The resurrection
is the “fullest” revelation of who and what God is, even today. (John 1:14)
