the key terms in the lesson in spanish.

● Special Needs- For my special needs students I might have flashcards for them to
make it easier to memorize the word and it’s meaning. Also because we will be
constantly using these terms throughout the unit it will be good to have flashcards
which they can quickly refer to.

● Accelerated (Gifted/Talented)- For my gifted students I would have them find
examples of each literary term online and write them down along with the definition.

9 1) Think Pair Share-After the lesson I will instruct my students to think about what
Assessments they have learned and what they think they will learn next. They will pair up with
a neighbor and share their ideas. At this time I will be walking around and
monitoring them making sure they are participating in meaningful dialogue.

2) Exit Ticket- When it is time to dismiss the class I will ask that each student write
down an example of a literary device. Students can write down metaphors, similes,
alliteration, etc. An example of this would be “She sells seashells by the seashore.”
Their examples of literary devices will let me know if they are understanding the
lesson or not.

10 Prior Knowledge, Context, and Motivation

Lesson I will begin class with a white board and a couple of drawings. On the whiteboard I will
Delivery draw symbols such as a cross, the statue of liberty, a heart, and a pot of gold. I will draw
the pictures individually and then show them to the students and give them a couple of
minutes to think about what the drawing represents. After a few drawings students will
see each symbol is used to represent an idea or quality. For example a cross represents
religion, the statue of liberty represents freedom, a heart represents love, and gold
represents power and wealth. This uses their prior knowledge because these are symbols
we see in everyday life. This will engage them because they are symbols they can connect
to. Also, the use of whiteboards and drawings will intrigue them.
