When the coordinate axes rotate by an angle of 𝛼, the Mohr circle is considered as the reference.
In other words, the axes rotate relative to the Mohr circle. By convention, counterclockwise rotation
from the positive x-axis is considered positive.

However, for the same rotation, if the coordinate axes are taken as the reference, the Mohr circle
rotates clockwise relative to the axes. By convention, clockwise rotation from the positive x-axis is
considered negative; hence, for a Mohr circle experiencing a stress rotation of 𝛼, the same Mohr
circle formula is used with an added value of −𝛼.
