Cook, along with assisting detectives from the BRPD Homicide Division responded fo the scene and investigated the Incident. | canvassed the ‘rea and noticed video cameras from the business which possible capture the incident between the offcers and STERLING. On July 5, 2016, at approximately (0523 hs, I presented the search warrant to the honorable Commissioner Q. Lawrence in which he signed te warrant. On July 5, 2016, at approximately 0550 hrs, myself assisted with Cpl. R. Hunt from the High Tech Support Dision execuied the search warrant for the DVR Player, atthe location of 2112 N. Foster Drive. On arrival | noticed that the yellow crime scene tape on the door was sll intact and was not tampered with’ then broke the tape seal fo gain access into the bulldng [Myself and Cpl. Hunt then reviewed the video surveillance from the incident pl Hint determined thatthe neon the sureelance equpment was 10 minutes wer than the actual me. We then determined that two exterior cameras (Camera ? and 8 Camera) captured the best view of the incident. later Viewed the survellance video and documented three incidents that would be pertinent in this investigation. When the 2nd taser deployment did not Iv work, Ofcer Salamoni tackled STERLING taking him fo the ground. Officer Lake assisted athe atempt ake STERLING jto custody wher you heard a voice stated "he got 2 gun’. Investigative Details: (On July 5, 2016 at approx. 1115 hrs. 1, Det, L. Calins attended ‘the Autopsy of Alton Steting. The autopsy was conducted by Or. Sih. Foster Drive, Tyresha Henderson stated that she and Kierica Reed drove to 2112 N. Foster Dr, Thole § Food Mar, o buy some dnnks and fod. Kierica Reed parked the Honda Accord in the parting lot and remained inthe vehicle to speak mith Deandie Gaines, who wes already at the location, while she(Henderson) went Inside the store. Tyresha Henderson stated that she retuned to the vehicle but {forgot to buy a Snickers bar so she went back iio the siore a second te. She purchased the Snickers ba, exited the store and satin the passenger seat of the vehicle, ‘As she sat in the vehicle, Deandre Gaines tld her thatthe police were there. Iyresha Henderson stated that she looked up and saw the officers approach Alton Sterling and tell him to “get down’. Alton Sterling relused to comply and would hnot get on the ground. The officers attempted to force him tothe around, But he again resisted and refused to comply wih the offcer's commands. The officers then deployed a taser which stuck Alton Stering.
