Ciba® IRGATEC® CR from Ciba Specialty Chemicals is a polymer

modifier for polyolefin nonwovens. It allows the nonwoven producers
to use standard polypropylene spunbond grades or recycled granules from
fiber scrap to design meltblown nonwovens with outstanding barrier and
mechanical properties. Ciba® IRGATEC® CR is a breakthrough in quality
improvement for hygiene applications like leg cuff SMS composites in
diapers and for technical uses like enhanced absorption or filtration media.

A giant leap forward in meltblown technology

with innovative polymer modification

Ciba® IRGATEC® CR 76
A novel polymer modifier for polypropylene nonwovens provides:

• Enhanced barrier properties of meltblown nonwovens and SMS composites

• Improved mechanical properties of meltblown fabrics
• Broader bonding window and improved mechanical properties in spunbond fabrics
• Cost savings due to higher flexibility in raw materials
• Customer friendly product form and safety in use (peroxide free, no cytotoxicity, not skin irritant)

Hydrostatic height from meltblown fabrics is a function of Ciba® IRGATEC® CR 76 concentration
