Cleaning Equipment:
The following is a suggested list of tools for use on MasterTop® SRS floors:
• Automatic Scrubbers
• Power washers: up to 1,200 psi is sufficient
• Pads: White or red 3M or similar
• Brushes: Nylon non-abrasive Malish 8129 series are similar medium flex bristle brush. Brushes
should always be “broken in“ according to manufacturer’s recommendations, prior to use on a
MasterTop® SRS floor.

• Mops: Synthetic for non-skid floors; cotton or synthetic for use on smooth floors.
• Wet Vacuums

Cleaning Products:
• Degreasing: A non-solvent based degreaser designed for the type of grease involved (animal
vs. Petroleum based).
• General Cleaning: A cold water Activated Butyl Cellosolve based cleaner such as Simple
Green or similar is recommended.
• Scuffs and Stains: An abrasive cleaner can be used for scuff marks and tougher stains.

Deep Cleaning
• For stubborn spots a 3M Blue pad or medium – stiff brush can be used on a scrubber in
conjunction with a detergent.
• Scuff marks can be removed using an abrasive cleanser such as Comet, Ajax or similar cleaner.
• These areas should then be rinsed thoroughly with clean water.

Scratches/Damage
• Cuts, gouges, and rubber burns such as those cuased by fork lifts or sliding heavy equipment
across the floor can damage the MasterTop® SRS floor. If this occurs it should be addressed by
contacting an approved MasterTop® SRS applicator to make necessary repairs to prevent
moisture or contamination from entering the floor.

Non-Skid Profiled Floor:

General Cleaning
• Sweep floor to remove any loose debris
• Most areas require the use of water base detergent. Dilute, mix and apply the detergent
following manufactures recommendations using a rayon mop. Allow the detergent to penetrate
for five minutes.
• Scrub floor with stiff bristle broom or rotary floor machine equipped with a scrub brush.
• Remove contaminants with wet/dry vacuum or squeegee to drains.
• Rinse areas with cool, clean water and allow to dry. Use clean water for each rinse.
• Because of the texture of the non-skid surface the use of a pressure washer may facilitate the
removal of contaminants from the surface. MasterTop® SRS floors can be steam cleaned but
caution should be used to avoid prolonged exposure of steam directly on the floor. Constant
movement should be maintained on the steam wand to avoid this problem.
• A thorough rinsing using a hose may be required in order to adequately rinse a non-skid floor. If
no floor drains exist, a wet vacuum can be used to pick up rinse water.

Deep Cleaning
• For stubborn spots a stiff bristle brush can be used by hand, an automatic scrubber, or hand
held buffer used in conjuction with a detergent.
• Scuff marks can be removed using an abrasive cleaner.
• These areas should then be rinsed thoroughly with clean water.

Scratches/Damage
• Cuts, gouges, and rubber burns such as those caused by fork lifts or sliding heavy equipment
across the floor can damage the MasterTop® SRS floor. If this occurs it should be addressed by
contacting an approved MasteTop® SRS applicator to make necessary repairs to prevent
moisture or contamination from entering the floor.

Maintenance/Damage Prevention
• Wax stippers should never be used on a MasterTop® SRS floor. Amonia mixed with water can
remove most waxes.

• Through the use of proper training and education. Unnecessary wear of the floor such as forklift
spin and skid marks can be avoided.
• Spills should be cleaned up immediately as a safety precaution as well as to prevent staining of
the floor.
• Surfaces should be adequately protected when moving heavy equipment across the floor.
