There are four demo files in this set:

PQPro 3P4W Continuous.TSQ

PQPro 3P4W Continuous Part.TSQ
PQPro 3P4W 5 Second.TSQ
PQPro 3P4W 5 Second Annotated.TSQ

The PQPro 3P4W Continuous.TSQ and PQPro 3P4W 5 Second.TSQ files were recorded using two
PQPros monitoring the same load. The load was on a 3 phase 120/208V system. Various load
configurations were selected to give leading, lagging and unity power factor loads. During load
changes there were transients in the voltage and current.

The PQPro 3P4W Continuous Part.TSQ and PQPro 5 Second Annotated.TSQ files have custom
formatting using PVII™ software.

PQPro 3P4W Continuous.TSQ

This file was recorded using the PQPro™ continuous waveform storage feature. Every
waveform cycle (256 samples/cycle simultaneously on all channels) are recorded along with
RMS data with 0.2 second resolution. You get high resolution data and never miss a transient
without setting trigger levels! Compare the detail in this file with the next file that was
recorded at the same time.

PQPro 3P4W 5 Second.TSQ

This file was recorded with Trend data stored every 5 seconds. The PQPro™ samples data
continuously at 1024 samples/cycle and updates RMS calculations every ½ cycle. At every
storage interval minimum, average and maximum values of RMS values are stored based on the
½ cycle values. Also at every storage interval a snapshot of the waveforms is stored – either
one cycle or 10/12/40 cycles (50/60/400 Hertz) depending if Interharmonics are enabled.
Trigger levels are used to capture event data. High speed voltage transient waveforms are
captured with a resolution of 1024 samples/cycle. Under/Over Voltage and Current Inrush
events are captured – waveforms with 256 samples/cycle and RMS data with ½ cycle
resolution.
PQPro 3P4W Continuous Part.TSQ
The continuous waveform storage feature is a powerful tool but it generates a lot of data. With
a 64G data card you can record for 3.3 days. Recording automatically wraps so that you can
leave the PQPro™ recording as long as you like and when you stop recording you will have the
last 3.3 days of data. The files on the 64G card are stored in 37 minute increments (there will
be a maximum of 128 files). There are no gaps between the last data point of one file and the
first data point of the next file.

Even with dividing the data files into 37 minute increments each file is 409M. Much too large
to email. However the PVII™ software can export a small section of the data into a new PVII™
file so that the file can be small enough to email. Often there may be a small section of the file
that you want to discuss with a colleague. For example in this session there was a load change
at 10:22:47 – capacitors were added to a unity PF load. This file is a small section of data
around that load change. The original file was 84M and this one is less than 2M. This file was
created by using the Export to PVII feature.

The capacitor bank transient waveform in this file can be compared with the capacitor bank
transient waveform captured in the following file.

PQPro 3P4W 5 Second Annotated.TSQ

This file demonstrates the versatility of the PVII™ software. Graph scaling can be modified and
data boxes and text bubbles can be added to the graphs. New graph pages can be added with
customized labels for each page.

The capacitor bank transient was captured by both the High Speed Voltage Transient (Spike)
capture function at 1024 samples/cycle and the Current Inrush Transient capture function at
256 samples/cycle.

Compare this file with the original PQPro 3P4W 5 Second Storage.TSQ file and see how easy it is
to produce an informative graphical presentation.
