Note: Short listing of qualified Teaching and Technical Staff was done in 2012 .

Technical staff
The Faculty needs ten (10) experienced Technologists (two (2) per
Department and Workshop).

C. STAFF WELFARE

1] Prime Facie which had been established by both Faculty and

University since 2008/2009 session for promotion to Associate
Professorship rank is still pending.
2] Non- recognition of accumulated years of experience of some of our
colleagues that transferred their services from other tertiary
institutions for purposes of promotion. After six (6) years on same
position in the University, they are still stagnated and denied
promotion despite their resourcefulness and academic output.

3] Non-sponsorship of academic staff to conferences.

OFFICE ACCOMMODATION

Presently, staff are accommodated in laboratory- partitioned offices. The

Faculty needs:-
1] Chemical Engineering Dept. - 8 furnished offices
2] Civil Engineering Dept. - 8 furnished offices
3] Elect/Elect. Engineering Dept. - 8 furnished offices
4] Mechanical Engineering Dept. - 8 furnished offices

Note; Faculty recommends that a bungalow with 40 offices be constructed

through direct labour to accommodate the Dean and HODs, Exam
Officers and all Academic staff so that the partitioned laboratory
spaces currently used as staff offices will be reverted back to
laboratories which they were initially intended for (Estimated cost of
construction and furnishing is 55 million Naira).

STEPS TO BE TAKEN TO SECURE ACCREDITATION

- Procurement of equipment (see attached)

- Recruitment of teaching and non-teaching staff (See Table 1 above)
- Provision of office accommodation, water and electricity.
- Procurement of text-books for Chemical Engineering Department.
- Provision of e-library facilities with functional connectivity

RESTORATION OF ELECTRICITY TO FACULTY OF ENGINEERING

BUILDING

The electricity supply to the Faculty of Engineering building was

disconnected in February, 2013. Ever since there have been no electricity
supply to the Faculty building. This has hampered day-to-day activity of the
Faculty including research and other administration activities.

It will be highly appreciated if normal electricity supply can be restored as

soon as possible.

Thank you.
