PROPOSAL FOR “IT IS TUESDAY, AN ENGLISH DAY” 2018

1.0 Introduction

In line with the method of student-centred learning and in response to the needs of providing
more educational activities for the students in the school, the English Panel teacher is taking
the initiative to propose ‘Tuesday is English Day’ which comprises of various competitons
and activities, as listed in Table 1:

2.0 Benefits
These competitions will not only help in enchancing students’ creativity, but most importantly
they will help to improve students and teachers’ language prficiency and self-confidence.

3.0 Date, Time and Venue

The English Panel Teachers plan to hold the ‘English Day’ on every Tuesday, 7.20 am until
2.30 pm. All the activities will be carry out around the school compund.
4.0 Objectives
The general aim of the ‘It Is Tuesday- An English Day’ is to improve students’ English
proficiency. Specifically, it is to achieve the following objectives:

 To improve students’ communication skills with good voice projection, eye-contact

and non-verbal gestures in interacting with peers and teachers.
 To provide opportunities for students to develop their organizational skill and event
management skills
 To enchance students’ creativity
 To improve students’ proficiency through various competitions held.
 To create awareness that language can be acquired through non-formal classroom
activities
 To faster closer relationship between students and teachers.

5.0 Organizing Committee

The committee for English Day will be all the English Language Society members . The
English teacher will be involved in supervising, assisting and providing guidance to the
students.

6.0 Targatted Group

All students (Form 1- Form 5).

7.0 Budgets and Allocations

Peruntukan daripada wang PCG Panitia Bahasa Inggeris

Anggaran perbelanjaan dicadangkan diharap mendapat kelulusan daripada pihak tuan.

8.0 Conclusion

The English Day that is to be held will be the first ‘English Day’ event to be organized by the
English teacher and English Language Society members based on the demand to have more
activities for the students and promote the use of English in the school. The event will also
contribute towards improving English proficiency among the students and teachers. Thus your
approval is important with the hope that this event will be carried out continuously every
week by the students.
