DWARF HYBRID PAWPAW

HISTORY/ORIGIN
Hybrid dwarf pawpaw, originally from califonia is produced by PRIMA AGRO company in
Indonesia.
It is a long oval shaped and red fruits type with higher sweetner. It consists of male/female seed
with 90% chances of germination. It's a specie of dwarf carica papaya.
A seed produces about 70 fruits per harvest with a maturity period of 5 months and last for 5
years as a tree unlike the majority that last for only one year.
SEEDLINGS OF PAWPAW
1; seedlings is done through nursery process by sowing the seed in a big bowl or polythene
rubber filled with soil compost(animal feaces and sand(1:2) on a PH balance of 5.0-6.0.
2; appropriate hole for sowing is 5.0cm depth
3;it takes 8-12 days for germination on a regular watering of the nursery bed.
WATER NEED
Drained and moist soil is needed when planting in Africa climate.

TRANSPLANTING
This can be done when the nursery papaya has about 6 leaves. The distance among trees is
about 2meter row and column in an open space. Ensure the land is prepared before
transplanting
FERTILISER
Fertiliser is applied once in a month after 10days of transplanting
1;1spoon per hole at first month
2, 2spoons per hole at second month
3, 3spoons per hole at 3rd month
4, 4spoons per hole at 4th
5 , 1 spoon per hole AT 5TH MONTH
Note: The fertiliser should b applied at a distance of 1ft from a hole of a tree.
NPK, UREA or ORGANIC FERTILIZER can b applied.

Calina Papaya
Calina Papaya (Carica papaya) is one
of the best tropical fruit. Papaya the
original species from Mexico and South
America but now it have spread out
around the world in tropical climate.
The advantage of this fruit is because
papaya produces about 20-25 kg per
tree or about 2 tons per hectare. The
requirement of land to grow are the
wind blows not too strong, rainfall
about 1000-2000 mm/year, the
optimum temperature 22o-26oC and the
humidity about 40%, fertile soil, water
flow enough and PH about 6-7.
Papaya has many benefits for our
health because it contains vitamin A
which is good for eye health, ease for
difficult defecation. Papaya fruit can
be made for salad with sweet yam,
pineapple, apples, star fruit and guava.
Papaya also made for herbal medicine
that can prevent cancer, constipation
and eye health, the papaya seeds are
useful as antioxidants in the blood
because it can lower cholesterol levels
and LDL, and raise levels of HDL (high
density lipoprotein).
Papaya seeds have
hipolipidemia for therapeutic effect of
hyperlipidemia caused by vegetable fat
or high cholesterol levels because the
seed extract contains alkaloids,
flavonoids, tannins, saponins,
anthraquinone, and anthocyanins
3 Step To Plant Calina Papaya
1. Preparation for Seedling
Seedling can be obtain by buying from
seller or garden shop. We can also buy
the seed of papaya and be sowed on
the fertile media. Find the best quality
of seed and seedling from amazon or
local shop. The sprout of seed of
papaya transplanted to media in
polybag size 15 x 20 cm. Media can be
mix from top soil and fertilizer or hull
of rice. Plantation requirement of
seedling about 1,000 – 1,500 pcs per
hectare.
2. Land preparation
Same as another garden trees, papaya
need also land preparation to fertilize
the soil. Plow the soil using tractor and
weeding all the grass that covered the
land. Plantation space 2.5 x 2.5 meters
or 3 x 3 meter. Make hole on the land
30 cm x 30 cm x 30 cm, add organic
fertilizer about 3 kg per hole. Install
the indication stick using bamboo
material and stacking in every the side
of hole.
3. Planting and Maintenance
The best time to plant the seedling of
papaya is before rainy season. Seedling
ready to plant in field after the height
is more than 40 cm. To plant the
seedling, remove or open the polybag
and place the seedling in the hole and
closed by soil. The papaya trees have to
be maintain to maximize the growth by
giving chemical and natural fertilisers
fertilizer such as NPK,chicken manure
about 100 grams per trees, weeding
the grass in every 2 months and
watering if necessary.
Calina Papaya
Calina papaya 4 months after planted
begin to bloom and the fruit is ripe
after 7 months old. The papaya tree
will continue to bear fruit until the age
of 4 years. The price of papaya fruit is
about $1 per kg, every month there
are 4000-6000 kg ready to harvest so the
productivity of carica papaya fruit is
about 1,000 – 1,500 kg per week and
the total revenue potential is $1,000 –
$1,500 per week.
