Analysis and Interpretation

In Christianity, Symbols, according to Christians, are objects or signs that carry a meaning and is

also used to worship. According to Psalm 150:5 (KJV), “Praise him upon the loud cymbals:

praise him upon the high sounding cymbals”, this scripture means that Christians should respect

and remember God’s symbol always but in worship.

The Church of God is briefly described as a doctrine and practice of God’s teachings. According

to Ephesians5:23, (KJV), “The husband is the head of the wife, as Christ is also the head of the

church, He Himself being the Savior of the body’’, this scripture shows a comparison between the

role of Christ in the church compared with the husband being the head of the house to shows

authority.

Studies have proved that the Cross is a basic symbol in Christianity because in Romans 5:8

(KJV) “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died

for us”, this scripture reminds us about Jesus’ death on the cross for our sin and the love he has

for us.

In every Church around the World the Holy Communion is used as a symbol and Luke 22:19-20

(NIV) (“And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my

body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”

In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my

blood, which is poured out for you), is recited by the congregation before they taking

communion. This scripture reminds us of God and the bloodshed at Calvary for our sins

According to an elder of Bethel Godspel Hall, The Baptism Water is a symbol used in Christians

religious beliefs. He also stated that, in the book of First Peter 3:21 (NIV), “this water

symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the

pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ”. This

scripture often reminds Christian that baptism is a pledge of accepting and believing that Jesus is

their Lord and Savior.

Conclusion

The Basic Symbols used by the Church of God is supported by scriptural evidence and

Christians religious beliefs.

In examing and discussing the Basic symbols used by the Church of God and The significance of

each, we find that symbols are commonly used by the Church Of God to remember Jesus life on

Earth.
