1. Describe your role in the organization you are in by citing some of you
duties and responsibilities towards assisting in its mandate.
Philippine National Police is the primary law enforcement agency in the country
which is national in scope and civilian in character. It was activated on January 29,
1991 under Sec 23, Chapter III of RA 6975, entitled “An Act Establishing the Philippine
National Police under a reorganized Department of the Inter and Local Government.”.
The PNP has chosen to highlight four (4) perspectives as follows: Resource
Management, Learning and Growth, Process Excellence and Community which are
considered to bring about the principal outcome in the process of realizing its vision
which states “Imploring the aid of the Almighty, by 2030, We shall be a highly capable,
effective and credible police service working in partnership with a responsive
community towards the attainment of a place to live, work and do business.”. Within
each of these four perspectives are the strategic priorities the PNP seeks to give a lot
of importance to, as it go about the strategic tasks related to becoming a highly
capable, effective and credible police service.” Stakeholders support is also an
important intervening factor in all the four perspectives.
Being a Police Officer II with a length of about six and a half years in service, I
have been assigned to several offices/divisions with different designations such as
admin personnel, investigator, beat patroller, etc.. I can say that experience really is
the best teacher in our lives. We learn through our mistakes and we also gain
knowledge from people and other things that surrounds us. With those, I think I can
initiate an innovation towards the attainment of our organizational goals through
supporting my fellow police officers since I am now involved in the Regional Police
Strategy Management Unit in our division. An example to this is when our division
conducts actual inventory of equipment to lower units. Whenever there are defects
noted, we see to it that it is being raised to higher ups if the problem is beyond the
capability of the lower units as well as with our office.
Furthermore, these could not be possible if we will not collaborate with other
departments/divisions of our agency.
3. Five years from now, how would you see yourself in the organization?
(300w)
Five years from now, I see myself as a senior police officer in the organization.
Every person has a unique and different character. I want to be someone who sets a
good illustration to my junior officers so that we can work in partnership to attain our
organizational goals.
