6 New Feature
Feature Description
RADWIN 2000 A-Series ODUs now offer software capacity upgrades from
10Mbps to 25Mbps
Capacity Upgrade is valid for all bands, regulations and configurations
Capacity upgrade should be performed for each ODU individually
1. ODU Capacity Upgrade
Following PO, Software upgrade keys can be obtained from:
http://www.radwin.com/updates/LicenseKey/lk-radwin.htm
Supported by installed base through software upgrade to release 2.8 GA
Capacity upgrade doesn’t activate the TDM service
FIPS-197 is a U.S. government computer security standard that specifies
approved cryptographic algorithm to protect electronic data
Compliance with the Federal FIPS-197 standard, enabling secured
information transfer when utilizing RADWIN 2000 products in federal
2. FIPS-197 agency deployments
RADWIN NIST Validation number: 2270
Validation publication:
http://csrc.nist.gov/groups/STM/cavp/documents/aes/aesval.html
Certified products: RADWIN 2000 A-Series
HAZLOC certification primarily concerns North America. It aims to control
the risks related to explosion in certain environments
It comprises two elements:
3. HAZLOC Certification
1. Testing and evaluation of products being used
2. Inspection of the factory
Applicable for RADWIN 2000 C-Series and Lightning Protection Unit (LPU)
Support 40MHz Channel BW in addition to 5, 10 and 20MHz
4. B-Series, Improved Capacity vs. Range Provide higher capacity per a given range
Supported by B-Series products with Hardware Revision 9 and above
RADWIN Manager Frequency Band RADWIN Manager displays the occupied bandwidth per Channel bandwidth
5.
Display and Frequency Band instead of the Center Frequency
8 Compatibility
Component Description
Software upgrade can be applied from any previous RADWIN 2000 release
1. Software Upgrade
(except RADWIN 2000 L & PDH)
RADWIN Manager Release 9.4.50 is compatible with RADWIN 2000
releases 2.1 – 2.8 and with WinLink 1000 releases 1.600 - 1.9.50
Early versions of RADWIN Manager for WinLink 1000 can be installed in
parallel to the current RADWIN Manager to support previous older WinLink
2. RADWIN Manager
1000 releases
When connecting RADWIN Manager older releases (prior to 9.3.00) to an
ODU with release 2.6.40 or later, there is an indication "newer release is
available” and it runs with limited management functionality.
RADWIN 2000 ODU release 2.8 build b2980 supports ODU hardware
3. ODU
revisions 1 - 9
RADWIN 2000 radios release 2.8 with Hardware version 6 - 9 can work with
IDU-Cs RD-7200-2000 or with PoE devices RD-9921-0101 with GBE
functionality.
GbE PoE P/N: RD-9921-2019
4. IDU and PoE device
When connecting an RADWIN 2000 radio to any other IDU, an
incompatibility alarm is issued and a link is not established.
Connecting an RADWIN 2000 radio to any other PoE device (e.g.
AT006284X) will yield indeterminate results.
Due to a regulatory change, a software upgrade is required for 5.4 FCC
products. A link operating at 5.600-5.650GHz will be dropped and
5. 5.4 FCC
reestablished after the upgrade, using the new channel required by the new
FCC guideline.

Applies to RADWIN 2000 link with release 2.8.00 on one side and a previous release on the other side.
It is recommended that both side of the link will have the same release version.
RADWIN 2000 radios are compatible only to other RADWIN 2000 radios.
A link cannot be established with a RADWIN 2000 on one side and a WinLink 1000 on the other side.
9 Resolved Issues
Issue Description

10 Limitations
Issue Description
1. Bridge addresses In some scenarios the bridge learns less than 1024 addresses.
Tx power limitation in 5.4 Due to compliance limitations, Tx power is limited in the lowest and highest
2. GHz ETSI lowest and channels in the 5.4 GHz ETSI band (for radios RW-2250-0150 and RW-2250-
highest channels 0250)
11 Known Issues
Issue Description
RADWIN 2000A-Series (RW-2250) with
CBW 5MHz may suffer degraded
1. Re-syncing the link may help

When setting the ODU IP address, the operation may timeout.
The ODU IP address is changed even in the event of timeout.
8. Setting IP address timeout
Ignore the timeout and connect to the ODU with the new IP
address.
Occasionally, false radar detection occurs under interference in
DFS bands FCC 5.3 and 5.4 GHz and ETSI 5.3, 5.4 and 5.8
GHz.
9. DFS false radar detection
The DFS algorithm will select the best channel. If interference
is high or in many channels, select another band.
11. Display issues Most workarounds are in the nature of “refresh the display”, e.g.
close and reopen the Manager, do “Back” or “Next” in wizards,
or ignore the shown values.
Sometimes, under a ring application, when resetting an RPL
