Release Note
1 General
Release 2.8 is a General Availability (GA) release for RADWIN 2000 radios. Release 2.8 introduces new
features and products. For upgrade instructions, please refer to “Software Upgrade” in section 5
RADWIN 2000 radios deliver high-capacity, long-range connectivity at the industry’s most competitive prices,
and comply with worldwide regulations and industry standards. Compact and robust, RADWIN 2000 products
provide Ethernet and native TDM (up to 16 E1s/T1s), thus enabling seamless migration from TDM to all-IP
networks.

RADWIN 2000 Highlights:

 Up to 200 Mbps net aggregate throughput
 Native TDM (Up to 16 E1s/T1s) + Ethernet over the same link
 Long range - up to 120 Km/75 miles
 Single radio supporting multiple bands
 Asymmetric capacity – fixed or dynamic channel allocation
 Advanced technologies: MIMO and OFDM
 GBE support
 Low Latency < 3msec

to check whether your ODUs support your required bands according to the ODU serial number.

products. A link operating at 5.600-5.650GHz will be dropped and

Description

The label 'SWU recommended' is missing under a scenario
when one site of the link is running under version 2.5.0 while
the other site is running with older software. This issue does not
affect service. T o resolve the issue, upgrade both sides of the
link to the 2.5.0 software version.
Sometimes, after link comes up, Service indication is 'Services
none' although Ethernet service is up and running. To resolve
the display problem, reset both sites of the link.
Sometimes, with the link is running with highest modulation,
following a sync loss, there may be slight performance
degradation with the RSS being lower than expected. The RSS
stabilizes after several minutes.
When E1 window is opened in the manager, the B8ZS/AMI
lines coding configuration appears whereas these line codings
are relevant only to T1. This is only a display problem.
The first local connection login attempt fails where the
Read/Write option is enabled. Workaround – logout and log oin
again to the ODU
At RW-9964-0200 (6.4 GHz) product - Sometimes short RSS
balances indication may appear after first installation. RSS
values may drop for a short period and automatically restore to
normal link
In rare cases, after software upgrade is completed and reset is
done, a Microsoft .NET framework error will appear and
RADWIN Manager instance will be terminated
