Teacher Candidate
 Planned and facilitated weekly music lessons for classes from Kindergarten to Grade 8 in a rotary schedule
using a variety of pedagogical approaches and techniques including: rote instruction on Orff instruments;
direct band instruction, and; student-lead learning through group composition assignments
 Created assessments of, as, and for learning that included summative assessments (of learning), formative
feedback (for learning), and student self-assessment (as learning)
 Incorporated technological applications and tools into lessons on a regular basis
 Assisted with musical rehearsals in preparation for the spring Arts Night concert

Sir William Mulock Secondary School – Newmarket, ON (October 2017 – November 2017)
Teacher Candidate
 Conducted a variety of daily music lessons for a Grade 9 Instrumental class and a Grade 9/10 Vocal class and
consistently differentiated expectations and instruction based on the individual needs of students in each class
 Co-designed a Grade 9 world music assignment and unit plan which included: self-directed lessons;
scaffolded formative assessments, and; aural and written check-ins and feedback
 Assisted in extra-curricular rehearsals for the Festival Winds ensemble, Enter A Cappella vocal ensemble,
and Cadenza vocal ensemble in preparation for their winter concert performance and video submissions into
the annual CBC Music Challenge
 Helped plan and facilitate extra-curricular events in the music department including the Fall Coffee House
and annual Lip Dub promotional video recording

Victoria’s College Dean’s Office – Toronto, ON (August 2014 – May 2016)


Residence Don (2014-2015)
 Created a positive space and welcoming environment for 42 incoming residence students, most of which were
entering residence for their first year of university
 Supported individual students through personal, academic, and mental health struggles
 Promoted community development within my house and within the larger Victoria College population
 Planned and facilitated student life activities in the form of social, charitable, and educational programming
 Responded to emergency situations when called upon, working with EMS and other resources when needed
 Acted as a role model to my house, fostering personal growth in students by encouraging co-curricular
involvement and encouraging students to strive for academic success
Senior Residence Don (2015-2016)
 Hosted biweekly meetings with a building team of five other dons, creating a positive, welcoming, and
confidential work environment by providing support through daily feedback and one-on-one check-ins
 Interacted closely with a building council of elected student leaders to promote events, discuss community
standards, offer guidance, and listen to their feedback in order to review and revise my own donning methods
 Worked with three other Senior Residence Dons as well as the Residence Life Coordinator to review student
behavioural trends and to create and revise policies that effectively addressed student needs and concerns
