Peddipalem village has a lower literacy rate compared to Andhra Pradesh. In 2011, literacy rate
of Peddipalem Village was 60.64% compared to 67.02% of Andhra Pradesh. In Peddipalem
male literacy stands at 66.72 % while female literacy rate was 54.70 %.
As per constitution of India and Panchayat Raj Act, Peddipalem village is administered by
Sarpanch (Head of Village) who is elected representative of village.
The main purpose of the study is to analyse the data of all households, commercial non-
commercial establishments of the village. We have been provide with 561 commercial and
household door numbers for the survey, where each student is expected to gather the data of 3
door numbers and submit the data to the college for the analysis of the data.
The primary data is collected via face to face interview. There is no secondary data
required for the survey, however a few data is collected from the internet, and government
websites to get an idea about the government schemes.

The second reason for poor development of the village is the health and sanitation. The problem
here is due to improper maintenance and negligent attitude of residents of the village and the
village authorities.
The third reason for under development of the village is access to medical facilities. The access
to hospitals and medicines is very low and villagers become reluctant to go to the hospitals.
Hence, the government as well as the individuals must take initiative towards development of
the village.
