Realmgate assault

26th - 27th
The Throne of Skulls is a gaming event all about fun, friendly battles in a relaxed atmosphere. You’ll get to play some great games
against other like-minded players. No matter whether you’re a seasoned player or if this will be your first step into playing our games,
the main focus for this type of event is on camaraderie and playing in the spirit of the game; that is to say non-competitive and fair play
are the order of the day. Prizes are awarded not just for the skill on the battlefield but also for painting and sportsmanship: This event is
held in our glorious gaming hall at Warhammer World which boasts excellent tables and terrain to game with over the weekend and our
renowned Bugmans Bar to quench any thirst and fill the belly of even the hungriest Duardin.

It was first noticed by Zyclawrel’s Kairic Acolytes that the Realmgates surrounding his citadel were acting strange, power surged even
when not active killing all minions sent to investigate this strange phenomenon. After countless Deaths Zyclawrel himself went to
investigate only to discover this new found power could be harnessed albeit not reliably but it could be harnessed! Word soon spread
around all of the realms of other strange acting Realmgates and not long after warlords began trying to harness the power for themselves,
sending small scout forces through to test the limits of this new found power.

• At this event, we will measure all distances between
models using their bases as a reference point. This is
commonly known as measuring “base-to-base”.
• You will not be allowed to be play with unpainted or
unbased models. We will politely ask you to remove any such model from the table (what counts as painted and based is detailed later on
in this pack).
• Each model you have in your army must accurately represent what is in your army list. There is room for
discussion, but it must be made clear from the outset that we want it to be perfectly obvious to your opponent’s what is on the table in
front of them so bear that in mind when deciding what you want to bring, or what awesome conversions you are planning. We want to be
as fair and as clear as possible, so please get in contact with us if you are not planning to use the ‘models out of the box’. We will have
the final say on whether or not a model is suitable for use at Warhammer World.
• Any Forge World Warscroll or Warscroll Battalion with a Pitched Battle profile is fine to use at this event.

These rules are to be added to all 5 missions being played at this Throne of Skulls event. At the heart of every gaming table this week-
end is a centralised Realmgate terrain piece to represent the empowered gateway between realms that is being used to flood the battle
with re-enforcements.

REALMGATE ASSAULT, Before Deployment each player may select up to half of its force in units (rounding up) and keep them in
reserve to be brought on via Realmgate Assault.
During the Hero phase of each players turn the player may choose to nominate one of his units held in reserve and attempt to bring it in
to play via the Realmgate located in the centre of the table. Once the player has chosen his unit roll 1D6 and consult the chart below:

1: Disaster The Unit is lost and cannot be selected again this game. (remove as a casualty)
2: Delayed Arrival The unit does not appear this turn and cannot be selected again this game but will appear on the last turn of the
game and be placed within 10”of the Realmgate as long as no model is within 3” of an enemy model when it is placed. and can act as
normal (Move, Charge, Shoot)
3-4:Slowed Arrival The Unit arrives and can be placed within 12” of the Realmgate as long as no model is within 3” of an enemy
model when it is placed. The Unit may Charge, Shoot as normal.
5-6 Perfect Arrival The Unit arrives exactly when it was needed, the unit may be placed within 18” of the Realmgate as long as no
model is within 3” of an enemy model when it is placed. (This unit may shoot and charge as normal but can still Move, Charge, Shoot
as normal).

The Empowerd Realmgates Overwhelming Power: The vortex bellowing from the Empowered Realmgate is so great and uncontrol-
lable that only models with the HERO keyword may end its movement within 3” of the central terrain piece or face total annihilation.
Any none Hero model that ends its movement within 3” of the Realm Gate is removed from play.
Throne of Skulls: Realm Gate Assault Champion - This award will go to the player who scores the most Favourite game votes over
the weekend.
The Best Army - This award goes to the player with the most votes from The Best Army painting competition.

It’s an honour for any team to have their armies nominated for the Best Army competition. Make sure you show your appreciation by
voting for your favourite collection from those selected during Sunday lunch time. The team that receives the most number of votes will
receive the Best Army award.

The Legends Painting competition gives you the chance to show off your skills with single models and units rather than with whole
armies. Simply enter the relevant category when it’s open; once all the entries are in, we will ask all the players to vote for their
favourites. The player that earns the most votes in each category will win the relevant prize.
Hero of Legend: Any single Battleline, Leader or uncategorised model on a 60mm base or less.
Beast of Legend: Any Behemoth or Behemoth Leader model.
Engine or Monster of Legend: Any Artillery model (plus any attendant crew) or any Model with the Monster keyword.
Company of Legend: Any unit of 5 or less models on 60mm bases or less or on cavalry bases.

Playing exciting, atmospheric games with fully painted miniatures is a big part of our events at Warhammer World. Therefore all
miniatures in your collection must be Games Workshop miniatures and be fully assembled, painted and based. Each model must fully
represent what you have presented on your army list (including all weapons and equipment). We will politely ask you to
remove any models that don’t meet these standards to protect everyone’s experience.
Furthermore, please contact us to let us know about any conversions or proxies you are planning on using, and provide us with
photos of the models in question where possible. Don’t worry, we fully appreciate awesome hobby skills and cool models, but we just
want to make sure everything is super clear for your opponent and no confusion can arise during games.
We often get asked if conversions and proxies are allowed at our events. The answer is yes but we need to check them first. Not every
conversion or proxy is suitable for organised play, or for Warhammer World. For example, there is a difference between a Dreadnought
Drop Pod, a Legion Drop Pod and a Dreadclaw Drop Pod and we would expect any player to use the correct one in any army they bring,
for the sake of clarity and to prevent any confusion on the part of their opponent. If you are in any way unsure, consult our handy
flowchart below:
Are you planning to use conversions or proxies of any kind (aka. anything other than the stock model)?

YES! Contact us at 0115 900 4994 or email us at

NO! Carry on - nothing to worry about except getting it painted on time.

Here at Warhammer World we expect everyone to use fully painted and assembled models and to treat everyone they encounter with
civility and respect. This is just as true during your games - especially at a Throne of Skulls where the objective is not to smash your
opponent’s to a pulp every game but instead to enjoy a great game and spend time with quality, like-minded people. Bringing a so called
cheesy combo, blatant rules abuses and super mega kill-my-opponent-in-one turn armies are actively discouraged. I wouldn't recom-
mend bringing them as they won’t help in your quest for glory and your games will more than likely be over very quickly! While we try
not to have comps or restrictions at any of our events, some people always turn up to smash people and while this is
absolutely fine way to play the game, it’s more suited to Grand Tournaments or other competitive events where winning really matters
and affects the end result of the game.
