software loading is an optional operation.
For the IAD, loading means to write the programs and data files

& Note:
l The default Telnet buffer size is small, and you can increase the
buffer size properly so that more history commands can be
displayed on the screen. Recommended buffer size is 1000 lines.
l When you are configuring the IAD through the Telnet program, do
not randomly change the IP address of the IAD. If it is necessary to
modify the IP address, after the modification, the Telnet connection
will be disconnected and you shall log in again with the new IP
address to set up the connection.
You can maintain the IAD through the local serial port.
Follow these steps to maintain the IAD through the local serial
port.
1) Set the IP address of the client and that for maintenance to
belong to a same subnet.
2) Telnet to the IAD by the IP address for maintenance.

You can modify the password in the global config mode by using
terminal user.
For how to manage users, refer to 3.3 IV. Setting user names
and passwords.
3-2
This command is executed successfully, and the host name has
been changed into iad101h.
& Note:
l Commands in debugging mode are used for maintenance. They
are seldom used daily. Therefore, this chapter only introduces
features and usage of some usually used commands.
l The commands used in debugging mode can be found in the CD
delivered.
The privilege mode and global config mode are compatible with
the lower-authority modes.
l In the privilege mode, you can run all commands in the user
mode.
l In the global config mode, you can run all commands in the
user mode and privilege mode.
The relations among the command modes are shown in
Figure 3-1.
3-3
The oval circles in the figure represent command modes. Each
arrow indicates the change from one mode to another. The commands
used to change modes are appended to the arrows.

Example:
& Note:
3-19
l To specify the SNTP server by sntp-svr.tele.com, you need to start
the DNS client on the IAD, and then configure the SNTP client.
Otherwise, the IAD accesses the SNTP server by IP address. For
how to start the DNS client, refer to Chapter4 MGCP Service
Configuration 4.2.7 Configuring DNS.
l After you have started the SNTP client, the start and end time of
the log information and accounting information will all be subject to
the time provided by the SNTP server. In this case, the local time
on the IAD that is configured by using time will not take effect.

4.3.5 Configuring One Set Two Number
Caution:
With the One Set Two Number function, you can switch VoIP
service to PSTN service.
By default, the IAD provides VoIP service. You can set a number
which is used to switch VoIP service to PSTN service.
Example: Set a prefix for two stage dialing. That is, after picking
up the handset, you will hear dialing tone twice. After you pick up the
handset and hear the first dialing tone, dial 0000 for switch. After you
hear the second dialing tone, dial the phone number of the called party.
The PSTN call is made.
Set a prefix for one stage dialing. That is, phone numbers whose
prefixes are the same as the prefix for one stage dialing can be dialed
out. For example, the prefix for one stage dialing is 3654 and the
phone number contains 8 digits. After you pick up the handset and
hear the first dialing tone, dial 3654, and then dialing the called
number, such as 36547155. The PSTN call is made.
4-24
l Manually: After the VoIP network is broken, you need to
configure the IAD to switch to the PSTN.
l Automatically: The IAD switches to the PSTN automatically.
Commands:

Chapter 5 SIP Service Configuration
I. Functions
Based on text coding, SIP uses the protocols such as HTTP and
SMTP for reference. SIP can work with the protocols such as
RTP/RTCP, SDP, RTSP and DNS to perform the services such as
Voice, Video, Data, E-mail, Presence, Chat and Game.

The SIP call procedure is basically the same with that of ordinary
telephone call.

& Note:
The step 1 – 3 must be configured. Others steps use default

out), after that, the data packet is resent, with TTL as 2. Similarly, TTL
timeout is returned for the second hop.

I. Configuring Tag
The IAD inserts 802.1p1q tags to data packets sent by its WAN
and LAN ports. That is, four bytes are inserted behind source MAC
addresses in data packet headers. These bytes include VID and
Priority.
8-23
Table 8-4 Configuring tags
In NAT mode, data packets forwarded from the LAN port to the
WAN port must be forwarded by the CPU. Thus, these data packets
are inserted tags which are the same as those of voice packets.
8-24
Example 1:
Insert tags into data packets received by the LAN port and sent
from the WAN port.
Example 2:
In NAT mode, all data packets upstream pass the CPU. Insert
tags into these data packets.
TERMINAL(lanswitch)#tag interface voice vlanid 300
priority 6
After configuration, data packets sent from the WAN port are
inserted tags. VID = 300; priority = 6.
Example 3:
Insert tags into data packets generated by the CPU and sent from
the WAN port.
TERMINAL(lanswitch)#tag interface voice vlanid 100
priority 7
8-25
To cancel configuration, do as follows:
TERMINAL(lanswitch)#undo tag interface voice
wan:

Disable an network port
TERMINAL(lanswitch)#shutdown

downstream

Example:

III. Setting Duplex Status of Ports
l Full-duplex: The port can send and receive data at the same
time.
l Half-duplex: Data packets are transmitted in only one
direction at a time.
l Automatic mode: The sender and the receiver negotiates
duplex mode.
Table 8-5lists the command used to configure the working mode
of ports.
Example:

IV. Configuring Port Rate
