Reflections on Observation Task 4: Development of Early Writing

Skills

1. What are developmental writing stages the majority of the students in?

- Some of the students had problems with holding the pencil to help them write. Some of

the students also don’t know how to write their names correctly and don’t know how to

write the letters in the write way for example some of the lower level students they write

the b like d.

2. Describe and explain two (2) suggested strategies that the teacher can use to help the majority
of the students within their developmental writing stage.

The teacher can use the following dots strategies to help the student writing, also she must

put the student’s names in the walls or in poster with their pictures to know how to write

their name by following the cards. If the student cant hold the pencil well, teacher will help

him and show the student how to hold the pencil and if the fine motor skills are not strong

enough she might give them playdough or let them write their names in water and sand.
