WORK METHODOLOGY FOR  REINFORCEMENT WORKS

Objective – The objective of this method statement is to describe in detail all the 
operation concerned with the Logix Blossom County Project. 

Scope   of   work   –  As   per   B.O.Q.   Item   number   2.12,   to   execute   7593   MT


Reinforcement works at all levels

Resources used
1. Materials:  Reinforcement   bars  of   various   diameter,   GI   Binding   wires,
Cement Cover Blocks

2. Machinery and Tools:  Tower Crane,  Bar Cutting Machine, Bar Bending


Machine, Tractor Trailor etc

3. Manpower : Engineer, Supervisors/Foremen, Fitters Gang.

WORK METHODOLOGY
1.   Initially,   Reinforcement   of   the   specified   type   and   grade   will   be
mobilized to site.
2. All reinforcements will be stored off the ground by providing concrete
sleepers battens underneath to prevent distortion and corrosion. 
3. Unit weight of reinforcement bars of each dia will be checked at site to
compare   with   standard   weight   and   whether   if   variation   is   within
permissible limit.
4. The samples of reinforcement steel taken in presence of client is sent to
approved external laboratory for various tests.

5. Drawings are studied and Bar Bending Schedule is prepared and got
approved by the Customer’s Representative before any cutting of bars is
taken up.
6. After   obtaining   approval   of   BBS   by   client,   bars   are   cut   and   bent
according to it manually or by using bending and cutting machines. The
first piece of each shape of  bar will be checked by concerned engineer
and after its verification and conformance to BBS, fitter will be allowed
for mass production.
7. These   are   shifted   to   the   workspot   and   will   be   stacked   nearby   the
placing   location   over   wooden   battens/   concrete   blocks.   Shaped   bars
will   be   placed   in   position   on   specified   cover   blocks   and   tied   with
binding wires in Raft and Slab. In columns they are aligned vertically in
position with the help of stirrups at regular intervals and cover blocks
are tied as specified. 
8. Laps,   Spacers,   Chairs   and   other   secondary   reinforcements   will   be
provided as shown in the drawing and as per requirements.
9. After placing of steel in raft / slab and beams, client’s representative
will be requested to conduct checking of the same before casting. While
in   case   of   columns   and   walls,   this   checking   will   be   offered   before
placing the shuttering.

SAFETY MEASURES:
1. Provisions for workmen:
 All   persons   working   at   the   site   shall   be   provided   with   the   safety
equipments, protection means such as hand gloves, safety helmets and
other necessary kinds.

2. Provisions for Equipment, Machine: 
 All   equipment   will   be   ensured   to   operate   safely,   maintained   and
repaired periodically.
 All power equipment should be insulated and covered to all exposed
live parts.
 A competent person shall inspect equipment during shift duty.           
3. Provisions for Job Site:
 Relevant Caution boards and sufficient lighting system shall be installed
at the working area to ensure safety for construction activities at night
time.
 The working area shall be free from hazards before starting the work.
 Unnecessary   materials   such   as   empty   bags   and   rubbish   shall   be
removed periodically.
