FAQ
• Q - What SW is needed to interface lift?
- EBI with Temaline interface is required.
- For any type of lift interface is necessary to consider Elevator option
licencing (EBI-Specifier).
- 1xLicence for each elevator to be managed, independently from the
number of floors to be managed or the numbers of controllers involved.
• Q – In which ways is it possible to interface elevators?
- TS2 or TS_AC01 with I/O.
- TS2 with IP protocol to Kone elevator;
- TS_AC01 with available serial protocol.
- More details about interface to Kone in table below.
- More details about other brand in table pag. 1.

FAQ
• Q – The readers inside the elevator-car used for managing a
Traditional Elevator system should be counted in EBI licence?
- Yes
• Q – The readers used for managing a DCS should be counted in
EBI licence?
- Yes
• Q – The readers used for managing a Turnstile or RCG system
should be counted in EBI licence?
- Yes
• Q - The I/O used for managing a Traditional Elevator system should
be counted as points in EBI licence?
- Yes
FAQ
• Q – Is there a limitation on the number of floors that can be
managed?
- Using Traditional interface via I/O the max number of floors managed
is 60, determined by the max number of I/O supported by TS_AC01
and TS2. Best performances with max 16 floors.
- Using serial protocol the max number of floors managed is 128, but
also performances need to be taken into consideration, so depending
from different variables.
- Using IP protocol to Kone the max number of floors managed is 512,
but performances need to be taken into consideration, so depending
from different variables.
• Q – Is it possible to use the same TS_AC01 or TS2 to manage both
lift and Access Control?
- TS_AC01 doesn’t allow to support AC and lift on the same device, they
are managed by different FW.
- TS2 support both features with the same FW. Performances need to
be taken into consideration.

I/O architecture
• The diagram shows the
architecture for connection to
elevator via I/O.
• COP inside the elevator is
managed by Temaline I/O.
• Temaline reader is also inside
the elevator.
• Max number of floors is 60,
determined by max number of
I/O managed by
TS_AC01/TS2.

• Only TS2 controller supports
this interface.
• Usually it is expected one DOP
at each floor.
• Max 512 floors can be
managed. Performances to be
