Teras Pantai merupakan bentuklahan dekstruksional hasil proses geologi yang

sering terjadi akibat penurunan muka air laut (sea level drop) oleh pasang surut yang
keberadaannya sangat penting dalam pengembangan ekowisata pesisir dan laut.

Dua Aspek yang perlu dipertimbangkan dalam pengembangan ekowisata

adalah aspek tujuan wisata dan aspek pasar, meskipun menganut konsep yang
mengutamakan produk atau pasar, namun tetap menjamin kelestarian sumberdaya
alam dan budaya masyarakat pesisir dan laut.

Empat parameter sebagai faktor utama pembentukan teras pantai yaitu,

kemiringan lereng, beda tinggi, elevasi dan yang paling terpenting adalah pasang
surut. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan adanya penemuan lubang (notch) di teras
pantai.Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survey, metode
kuantitatif dan metode kualitatif.

Pantai tanjung gelam sebagai kawasan wisata yang memiliki teras pantai,
mempunyai tiga tipe teras yaitu teras sangat tua, teras tua dan teras muda. Dari ketiga
tipe teras tersebut teras sangat tua memiliki kelerengan mencapai curam sampai
sangat curam, teras tua memiliki kelerengan yang curam sedangkan untuk teras muda
kemiringannya dari landai sampai miring.

Dari ketiga tipe teras ini, teras yang sangat sesuai untuk dikembangkan sebagai
daerah ekowisata adalah teras 3 atau teras muda. Sedangkan untuk teras 1 dan 2,
sebaiknya dikembangkan untuk daerah yang memiliki variasi kegiatan seperti flying
fox dan pembukaan jalur tracking untuk wisatawan.

Kerjasama antara masyarakat, wisatawan dan pemerintah sangat diperlukan

sebagai upaya pelestarian kawasan ekowisata Tanjung Gelam. Proses pengembangan
ekowisata secara berkelanjutan harus diintegrasikan kepada kelestarian lingkungan
alaminya, karena pemakaian sumberdaya yang tinggi dan sulit diperbaharui kembali.

 The beach teracces is destructionallandforms as a result of geological
processes. It’s often occurs from sea level drop by tidal whose the existence was very
important in development of coastal and marine ecotourism.

Two aspects needs to be considered in the development of ecotourism

aredestination and market aspects.According to that aspects, the development still
guaranteeing the preservation of coastal and marine, people’s natural and
culturalresources.

The four parameters of main factors of coastal terrace formation, there are
slope, elevation difference, and tidal dinamic as the most important factors. Tidal has
been proven by findingsmall holes (notch) on the beach terraces. The method that
used in this study is survey,quantitative and qualitative methods.

Tanjung Gelam coast asa tourist area with beach terrace has three type of
terraces. There are the oldest terrace, old terrace and young terrace. The older terrace
has a steep slope to the steeper slopes, old terraces hassteeply slope and the young
teracce has gently to steeplyslope.

The suitable terrace or the 3rd terrace (young terrace) has been developed as
an ecotourism area. However, the 1st and 2ndterraceshould be developed for other
activities such as flying fox and tracking area.

The cooperation between peoples, tour and travel agent and the goverment
was needed as the effort to preserve Tanjung Gelam ecotourism area. The sustainable
tourism development should be integrated to the natural environment, because of the
high utility of resources and sustainable.
