You will be recording to Pro Tools through the Toft, with a sound source (CD
Player). The system is powered on. Pro Tools is launched, but no session is
open. A headphone box is set up and ready to go in the control room with you,
using Aux Send 5.
1. Create a new PT session (96kHz, 24 bit).
2. Create a mono audio track in PT.
3. Patch the live signal to Toft input 7+8.
4. Send the live signal from the Toft to your PT track, set to a suitable
tracking level.
5. Monitor the output of the PT track on Toft Channel 9.
6. Send this signal to headphones from your monitor path using a pre fader
send on Aux 5.
7. Patch Aux Send 2 to the Yamaha Rev 5, and monitor the stereo returns
on Toft Channels 23 and 24.
8. Using the Rev 5, add plate reverb to the track as a parallel effect, and
monitor it in the control room loudspeakers.
9. Add a tasteful amount of that same reverb to the headphone mix.
10. Close the PT session without saving, but do not quit PT. Normal console
and patch bay. Celebrate your total mastery of the studio.
