10.4 The student will read, comprehend, and
analyze literary texts of different cultures and
eras.
In this activity, the students will be creating a blog
post that analyzes the themes found in the novel,
1984, written by George Orwell. This activity will
require students to demonstrate their knowledge
and understanding of the text. The instructor will
introduce the topic for the blog post. An example
of this could be, “Discuss how censorship is
presented in the text”. After discussing the
instructions for the assignment, the teacher will go
over how to download, signup, and use the app,
Weebly. The instructor should have their own
example to demonstrate their expectations for the
assignment. The students will choose a preexisting
or custom template and create a blog that details
their own opinion and knowledge of the text.

develop new understandings, make decisions, and
solve problems.
In this activity, students will work together in
groups to discuss and answer questions about the
assigned text. Before the class, the instructor will
create 4 separate wall post on the Padlet app.
These wall post should be open-ended discussion
questions concerning the current text. During class,
the instructor will first go over the instructions to
the assignment. Next, the instructor will explain
how to download, signup, and join the wall post.
The instructor will also go over the different
features on Padlet, such as, how to add a comment
ect. Next, the teacher will split the class into 4
groups, and give the students the link to their
assigned wall post. Before the end of class, the
teacher should make sure that all students are able
to access the wall and are able to add comments.

Students will be required to work together with

their group to answer the discussion question using
the text to support their answers. The instructor
will have the groups come together as a whole
class to discuss their findings.
