Set induction

This is a set induction for a 9th grade P.E. class volleyball unit

Good morning, class! Today we are going to practice:

What: the overhead set.

Why: The overhead set is extremely important in the game of volleyball because it is a common way to
pass the ball to your teammates, but it is also used to setup a teammate to score by spiking the ball. You
are going to practice the overhead set with a partner until you can get 15 consecutive sets done.

Learning outcome: At the end of this lesson, you should be able to properly set the ball to your
teammates 8 out of 10 times. Since the summer Olympics are coming up, I want to see the best
overhead sets that you can give, and maybe one day you’ll be playing at the Olympics too!
