Good morning ladies and gentlemen, I’m the first speaker for the opposition team.

This

house believes that housewives should not be paid for their work. I would first like to

rebut to the arguments the first speaker of the government side has made that she

was agree that housewives should be paid for their work. First, I will give you the

meaning of housewife. Housewife is a married woman whose main occupation is caring

for her family, managing household and doing housework. So, from this meaning we

can observe that housewives should not be paid because it was housewives

responsible to care about their family, managing their household and doing their

housework. They should not be paid, once they are married, that’s mean they will

do and manage housework. Many British women have now admitted that they

would rather be a housewife than have a career. Of course be a career woman will

be paid but why they choose to be housewife than have a career? Housewife is not a

maid to us. If we paid them, that mean they are like our maid. Do you want your

mother to be your maid? Ladies and gentleman, a family cannot pay housewives

because a child does not have the means to pay his or her mother. Sometimes

husband also cook and clean the house. Does it mean wife should give money to

husband? . There is no need to pay extra pocket money to housewife. Anything taking

place at home will be shared by both husband and wife. Whoever earns, ultimately the

money goes to one account. If wife is not working that does not mean husband should

pay pocket money. He is the one who is controlling money. He can give money to

her on certain occasions like birthday, buying new dress or for wedding anniversary. We

should not treat wife only for keeping house neat and cooking daily good meals. Love

each other, money has no value in front of love. Thank you.

Thank you to the lecture , who had teach me in English for effective communication ,

GEC subject. I feel so happy because I can finish this coursework with my friend. When

I did this assignment , I feel so excited because can practice debate with all my friend.

Miss tan was so kind help me how to do this coursework .She told me how to be a good

debater .

I also thanks to my group friend .they also had help me to search the topic for debate.

Although the topic is difficult to find on internet ,but we did not give up to find the point

in our debate. In this assignment I learnt how to debate properly and give talk .i also

learnt how to search our information to search about the debate.
