PAPAVER SOMNIFERUM CAPSULE

• Globular in shape, Green in colour, yellowish brown when dryed
• 3 cm in diameter with crown at top and pedicle at the base
• The outer surface shows striations to obtain opium alkaloid
• Active principle: morphine, codeine, narcotine, narceine papaverine and thebaine
 DAUTRA CAPSULE
• Oval in shape, thorn apple capsule, thorn on its outer surface
• Green in colour, yellowish brown when dryed
• Composed of four compartments, Closed below, opened above & containing datura seeds.
• Active principle: Atropine- hyoscine- hyoscyamine
