Our Living Planet - Dubai is a science museum with

The site was well positioned to create a connection
between previously separated public zones. By extending
the architectural language of the hall out into a park to the
West a public park and smaller informal spaces could be
created.

7 academic project - 2014
The facade of the Northern portion of the music school
aimed to provide a sense of enclosure to the quiet study
zones within as well as privacy to the residences beyond.

The Southern and Eastern facades streets aim to connect


the occupants to the rest of the University while using
negative pressure to ventilate the building.

This design began to investigate the operations that private


could be performed on the big box store typology. The

The project’s ‘client’ was an innovative private school
that combines project-based academics with equal parts
of active athleticism.

Athletics, active learning and group work collide are able


to co-exist in the larger spaces of the big box, while
spaces for administration, service and quiet learning are
contained in pods arranged to create spaces and allow
natural light.

This adaptive re-use project hung study and sleep pods in
the exposed steel structure of the architecture building at
Dalhousie.

The existing building was designed to be a learning tool


for steel construction. In response, the hanging pods’
systems are exposed, demonstrating methods of wood
construction.
11 academic project - 2013
Set in the UNESCO world heritage site of Lunenburg,
NS, the site marked the boundary between the public
downtown and the residential beyond. The site was divided
in two to create a bookend to the public zone and a public
space with a view out to the out to the docks.

An operation on the centre-hall typology common to


Lunenburg was split down the centre to create a modern
great room.
12 academic project - 2012
This pavilion was designed as a counterpoint to the Brion
Cemetery. Creating a departure point, it launched cyclists
on a short trek out to the Scarpa’s masterwork and provided
a place of shelter and respite.

A practical project in which we had to learn casting concrete,
it applied the ideas of hearth, structure, and enclosure to
a custom lamp.
