Ms. Robyn David

Creighton Elementary School District
2702 E Flower St.
Phoenix, AZ 85016

Dear Ms. David,

Hello, I am pleased to make your acquaintance. I am interested in

applying for an elementary-level teaching position within the Creighton School
District. I heard about this opportunity during an education class while completing
my bachelor’s degree in education at Arizona State University. I am currently 22
years of age and plan on graduating from this institution in the year 2020. I
believe my experience in this field will match this position as I have extensive
knowledge on teaching at an elementary level as I have completed student
teaching experiences on both the second and third grade level. I have been
pursuing a career within the elementary education field for four years and hope
that what I have learned during that time both mentally and in a hand’s on
environment give me the qualifications needed for this job.

I have always had a passion for education from the youngest I can
remember I dreamed of being the person in front of the classroom encouraging
the other students around me to succeed. Now as a college aged student, I have
made active strides towards helping children in need, both of individualized
education and receiving much needed compassion. Both things I believe
traditional public schools are lacking these days. A teacher especially when
dealing with younger age groups, needs to have patience, compassion, and
understanding while still maintaining a classroom with order and respect. Your
school district relies on making every student feel special and important. The key
to this is making sure every student feels that his or her needs and wants have
been met even when in a large group setting. This comes from bringing one on
one attention into the classroom. When every student feels they have the
teacher’s undivided attention more often than not, misbehaviors in the classroom
decrease. I have worked in both a Montessori preschool environment and taught
multiple all ages dance classes and I truly believe I have the ability to bring
another classroom with the ideals you value like these into your district.
Your school also strives to engage students in the larger community.
Students need to feel they are making an impact on the world around them in
order to remain passionate about learning. My background in both preschool
teaching and teaching dance classes gives me a lot of experience when it comes
to incorporating community service into my classrooms. For example, in my
dance classrooms we have held performances at local events many times and I
would encourage the team to work together to both promote the performances
and bring their art and sport to the community at large. To help them feel
productive and proud of the work they have accomplished. In my preschool
classrooms, especially during the summer months, we would take field trips to
local community outreaches. Experiences like exploring and cleaning up the
beaches around us and getting to travel to local farms to learn about composting
and the importance of growing and cultivating food for the community.

It is my goal to combine my previous hands on and classroom experience

with my ability to be compassionate, understanding, enthusiastic, and intelligent
as a teacher. I will make a positive contribution to both your school district and
the larger community as a whole. I would love to be contacted for an interview
and I hope to hear from you, at your earliest convenience of course. I will contact
your main office next week with a follow up. Thank you for taking the time to
review my letter and my attached resume.

Sincerely,
