1. Modern Day Slavery

National Crime Agency – Modern Slavery and human trafficking

Modern Slavery is the term used within the UK and is defined within the
Modern Slavery Act 2015. The Act categorises offences of Slavery,
Servitude and Forced or Compulsory Labour and Human Trafficking (the of
which comes from the Palermo Protocol).
These crimes include holding a person in a position of slavery , servitude
forced or compulsory labour, or facilitating their travel with the intention of
exploiting them soon after.
Although human trafficking often involves an international cross-border
element, it is also possible to be a victim of modern slavery within your
own country.
It is possible to be a victim even if consent has been given to be moved.
Children cannot give consent to being exploited therefore the element of
coercion or deception does not need to be present to prove an offence.

PART 3 – DEFINING HUMAN TRAFFICKING

Human trafficking
(1) A person commits an offence if the person arranges or facilitates the
travel of another person (“V”) with a view to V being exploited.
(2) It is irrelevant whether V consents to the travel (whether V is an adult
or a child).
(3) A person may in particular arrange or facilitate V’s travel by recruiting
V, transporting or transferring V, harbouring or receiving V, or transferring
or exchanging control over V.
(4) A person arranges or facilitates V’s travel with a view to V being
exploited only if—
(a)the person intends to exploit V (in any part of the world) during
or after the travel, or
(b)the person knows or ought to know that another person is likely
to exploit V (in any part of the world) during or after the travel.
(5)“Travel” means—
(a)arriving in, or entering, any country,
(b)departing from any country,
(c)travelling within any country.
(6) A person who is a UK national commits an offence under this section
regardless of—
(a) where the arranging or facilitating takes place, or
(b) where the travel takes place.

Meaning of exploitation
(1) For the purposes of section 2 a person is exploited only if one or more
of the following subsections apply in relation to the person.

Slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour

(2) The person is the victim of behaviour—
(a) which involves the commission of an offence under section 1, or
(b) which would involve the commission of an offence under that
section if it took place in England and Wales.

Securing services etc by force, threats or deception

(5) The person is subjected to force, threats or deception designed to
induce him or her—
(a)to provide services of any kind,

 (b)to provide another person with benefits of any kind, or
(c)to enable another person to acquire benefits of any kind.

Securing services etc from children and vulnerable persons

(6) Another person uses or attempts to use the person for a purpose within
paragraph (a), (b) or (c) of subsection (5), having chosen him or her for
that purpose on the grounds that—
(a)he or she is a child, is mentally or physically ill or disabled, or
has a family relationship with a particular person, and
(b)an adult, or a person without the illness, disability, or family
relationship, would be likely to refuse to be used for that purpose.

United Nations Convention of Civil and Political Rights

The United Nations defines human trafficking as follows:

"[T]rafficking in persons shall mean the recruitment, transportation,

transfer, harbouring or receipt of persons, by means of the threat or use of
force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the
abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the giving or receiving
of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control
over another person, for the purpose of exploitation, which includes, at a
minimum, the exploitation of the prostitution of others or other forms of
sexual exploitation, forced labour or services, slavery or practices similar to
slavery, servitude or the removal of organs.

"Human trafficking is a modern form of slavery, defined as any act that

involves the transport, harbouring, or sale of persons through coercion,
force, kidnapping, deception or fraud, for the purposes of placing them in a
situation practice. Human trafficking can be local, national or international
– a person may be trafficked from a small town to a large city within the
same country, or trafficked to another country. of forced prostitution,
domestic servitude, debt bondage or other slavery-like”

HUMAN TRAFFICKING in Duhaime's Legal Dictionary is:

“The transportation or commercial exchange of an individual by coercion
or deception for the purpose of exploitation. Human Trafficking is the sale
or transport, of people through the use of force, or abduction, fraud or
deception, or exploiting people for purposes such as forced labour or
services, slavery or practices similar to slavery or servitude.”

'Human Trafficking'' in Arabic "‫"النإسان" "المرور‬. is:

1. (v. i.) To pass along living human beings as goods and commodities from
one person to another for an equivalent in goods or money; to buy or sell
goods; to barter; to trade.
2. (v.) To pass along living human beings as Commodities of the market.
3. (v.) To pass along living human beings in Commerce, either by barter or
by buying and selling; interchange of goods and commodities; trade.
4. (v. i.) To pass along living human beings through trade meanly or
mercenarily; to bargain.

Sex Abuse.
The Commission seeks to document — as no one else has done — the totality of
the child abuse spectrum from slavery to sex to murder to body parts harvesting.
Our intent is to document how many children actually go missing each year (with
eight million a year as a speculative assumption); how long they live once
ingested into the child abuse network of networks (two years is our preliminary
assumption); what precisely happens to children; and who precisely is responsible
for protecting this long-running genocide against our most vulnerable children.

Human Trafficking Sting Leaves Hundreds Arrested, 84 Children Rescued, As

“A series of busts coordinated by local law enforcement and the FBI this month
revealed a wide network of child sex slavery, resulting in 84 children being
rescued. “Child sex trafficking is happening in every community across
America…” said John Clark, the President and CEO of the National Center for
Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). One of the stings, executed in Polk County,
Florida, resulted in 277 arrests, all part of an operation dubbed “Operation No
Tricks, No Treats,” which ran from last Tuesday to this Monday. “That’s the most
we have ever arrested in the history of the sheriff’s office,” said Sheriff Grady
Judd. Of the horrifying details emerging so far, one of the most disturbing is the
fact that many of the arrested hold high-ranking and respected positions in
society, ranging from doctors to military officers to pharmacists and more.”

And survivor i can tell you that it's not safe and healing at all and although i was
being mistreated at home due to my mothers young age, addictions, and
domestic violence, and sexual harassment of my moms boyfriends, i sustained
horrific and much worse abuse in foster care. Foster care is supposed to be a
temporary safe zone/haven for a child when there is nowhere else for an alleged
abused child to escape maltreatment. In the 30 homes i wound up in and out of
including group, respite, and residential treatment homes none was necessarily
safe. Its hard to heal when you are never in one spot long enough to feel
comfortable or safe. Now i did land in a few foster homes that i got along good in
and formed a half way bond with the house parent or foster parent, but it was few
and far between. In my years in and out of foster care i was brutally raped,
beaten, starved, tortured as punishment, and witnessed crimes i was made keep
quiet for fear of my life. I had been placed on drugs while in foster care due to all
the trauma and PTSD i had. I was placed on 7 "PSYCHOTROPIC" drugs. These
drugs zombied me out and i just felt careless and numb. I walked around with
brain fog/confused type state and was very reclusive and quiet. I had
uncontrollable fits of violent outbursts and rage to point cops would be called on
me and id be removed from my placement and either taken to jail or mental
facility/RTC. I stayed sick and never felt well. I slept a lot and was very anti-social.
I trusted NOBODY! It was hard for me to make or keep friends bc i changed home
and schools so much and i got bullied bc i was a "FOSTER KID". Life was hard and
some days i just wanted to die.I can remember day dreaming about what a family
would be like,how it would feel to actually have someone who cared and know
they did instead of just acting for the paycheck! Wondering what it would be like
to do family things or to just feel "LOVE" something i never felt or was ever told in
my life. I'd be lying if i said bad thoughts never went through my mind in foster
homes where i was continuously abused, but im sure you can imagine what those
thoughts might have been. Being in foster care did NOTHING to PROTECT me or
SAVE me or HELP me HEAL or to be a BETTER person. IT TAUGHT ME NOT TO
TRUST, THAT LIES WAS OK,AND THAT NOBODY CARED. I was just a number in a
system and a paycheck not a REAL PERSON WITH FEELINGS!! I have struggled my
whole life to RISE ABOVE MY PAST, but that past FOREVER HAUNTS ME! I have
had to fight for my life, fight for my rights, fight to be safe, and fight to keep my
own kids!! My whole life i have felt oppressed and like a "SLAVE" to a cruel and
dangerous system like doing hard time shackled in a prison! I have NEVER BEEN
ABLE TO BREAK FREE FROM THOSE CHAINS/CHFS...Its hard always being on watch
and your every move being scrutinized, and trying to be perfect and do
everything perfect trying to stay off their radar, scared that if you slip or make
one wrong decision it could cost you YOUR LIFE and YOUR KIDS!! Today thanks to
CHFS i have PTSD and severe health problems and a FRACTURED FAMILY that is
suffering and grieving! They didnt care when i was a kid and they dont care now
how we are suffering. It REALLY HURTS THAT THEY TAKE YOU FROM YOUR FAMILY
CLAIMING THEY ARE SAVING YOU FROM ABUSE BUT THEN THEY DO THE SAME
THING TO YOU THAT THEY TOOK YOU FOR! They claim that they help prevent
family separation and they preserve families but I AND MY FAMILY ARE PROOF
THAT THEY DO THE EXACT OPPOSITE!! They DESTROYED ME AS A CHILD AND
USED MY PAST AS A FOSTER CHILD AS AN EXCUSE TO RIP MY FAMILY APART
FOREVER! You raised me and you abused me and did nothing to help me but then
blame me for your failures. You CHFS failed me as a child and YOU FAILED MY
FAMILY! SO IM ASKING THAT CHFS PLEASE STOP LYING TO SOCIETY and having
them believing your agency actually SAVES, PROTECTS, And STRENGTHENS
children and families because you did NOTHING TO HELP ME AS A CHILD OR MY
FAMILY!
