How to pass law school and the slay the BAR dragon

This open message is addressed to those who want to pursue law school, obtain the degree and to
ultimately pass the bar exam. Let me first explain why I’m writing this before being bashed by haters and
trolls 

When I was still a student, I am fond of searching articles like these. I am inspired by stories and learn
from them. I know, somewhere out there, people like me exist. So if you do not have any interests in
studies, hardwork, law and bar, you may just skip and look for funny videos and confession stories
instead.

Let me start this, with the premise that I am not inherently intelligent. I am witty, I talk a lot but I’m not
intelligent. I am just a typical person with self doubt like most of us.

I was a working student while I was in law school. I work from 8am to 5pm then I go to law class from
5:30 to 9:30 everyday. I will no longer elaborate how I was being academically tortured in class ‘coz its
normal. Now, how did i cope up with the schedule. I usually study from 10 pm to 1 am or 2, depending
whether I have exams or recitations. During lunch time and breaks, I read books a lot. I read, read, read,
read, read. I buy books a lot. My salary almost went all to my tuition fee and textbooks.

While I was in 4th year, I secured at least 3 reference books per subject(except those with limited authors
in the market) For example, in Civil law, I have the book of Aquino, Jurado, and Paras. (plus the thin
textbook reviewer of Albano), I find happiness in my textbooks. They gave me hope. The idea that how
could you possibly fail, if the answers were already in your hands. So I read read read and read and give
justice to my books.

If I’m really tired, I go to spa for a whole body massage or to a movie house.

My point is, if you are still in law school, give your best. You read a lot. Memorize important provisions
and secure books you are comfortable with.

Despite all those efforts, I was still in doubt to immediately take the bar within the same year. I really
planned to have my formal review but uncertain whether to take the exam.

I resigned from my work. I went to Manila and enrolled in a formal review in San Sebastian Recoletos.

(this portion applies to bar reviewees and bar candidates) this might not apply to everyone, but you may
just try.

Based on research and reference books I have read, this is what I did:
