SWBAT analyze different websites and compile facts about Greek Mythology and Odysseus.

Differentiated Instruction
Explain how instruction is differentiated to meet students’ needs.

Process: All students receive the same material in the same way, but adaptations are made based on individual
needs with a lot of one-on-one instruction. One student has concussion – print out resources for them.
Product: All students must meet the base standards of assignments and test, but quality grading is based on
student ability and efforts extended
Content: All students receive the same content with adaptations as needed

Other/Notes: 50-minute class

● Students will come into class and begin their Vocabulary quiz (until they finish, roughly 20 min)
● Pass out Web Quest. “Next week you will be begin reading ‘The Odyssey’, today, you will begin
exploring Greek Mythology and start thinking about ‘The Odyssey’. You will have 15 minutes to
complete as much of the Web Quest as possible. This will not be collected, it is simply an activity to help
familiarize you with terms and facts that will help you on our next activity. In 15 minutes, we will play
Kahoot! (Motivation) Fill out as much as you can, because the top 3 people at the end of the game will
get candy!” (15 min)
● Walk around to see how much time is needed to see when we can start playing Kahoot! (during 15
min)
● “Okay, it seems like most of you are done with the Web Quest, on your Chromebook, open up Kahoot!
and join the game using the code on the projector” (1 Min)
● Play Kahoot! stopping after each question to address what they got right and wrong. (10 min)
● Hand out candy to the top 3 winners (1 min)
● Congratulate winners, and class for knowing so much before even reading the story. Tell them that
they can begin packing up, ask: Next week you will begin reading “The Odyssey”, are you surprised
about how much you already knew? (3 min)
