To Whom It May Concern:

I am pleased to write a letter of reference for Miss Alixandra (Ali) Cozart, who
completed the final requirement for her Bachelor of Education at Isabel F. Cox School. During
Miss Cozart’s practicum at Isabel F. Cox School, I acted as her mentor teacher.

Included in her responsibilities was the teaching of grade 2 language arts, math, social,
science, physical education, health and art. In addition, Miss Cozart supervised lunchrooms and
attended staff meetings and professional development. She took on more than her share of
teaching and leadership roles during this time.

Miss Cozart effectively taught the units assigned, often researching additional materials
in preparation for her daily lessons. She demonstrated technological skills through her daily use
of the Smartboard in our classroom with careful attention to both General and Specific learner
outcomes. Miss Cozart dealt with students professionally and respectfully, communicating with
parents when necessary. Classroom expectations, procedures, and routines were immediately
established which enabled students to easily transition between the varied activities she
presented. Miss Cozart possessed a strong work ethic as evidenced by her early arrival and
willingness to work well beyond the regular school hours. Miss Cozart’s thorough planning
motivated and engaged her students; she began her lessons with meaningful attention getting
information that supported her objectives. Her warm sense of humour and cheerfulness were
appreciated by students and staff alike.

During the ten weeks that Miss Cozart interned at Isabel F. Cox School, she became an
integral part of our staff. She possessed a friendly and approachable manner which led to a
favourable rapport with her colleagues and students. Miss Cozart will always be welcome by
both students and staff at our school. I do not hesitate in recommending her for any teaching
position for which she may apply.
