I have served the Punjab Police (India) at various ranks and has been posted across
various cities in Punjab like Jalandhar, Patiala, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Khanna, SAS
Nagar (Mohali), Bathinda, Barnala, Mansa and Sangrur for different tenures as SSP.
During my tenure as SSP of Khanna Police from May 2005 to April 2006 I have been
instrumental in introduction of the notable CPO scheme.

I also served as Senior Superintendent of Police with Chandigarh Police for three years
starting September 2010.

I was awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2013.

Notable Initiatives

CPO Scheme, Khanna

I initiated the concept of Community Policing, popularly known as CPO Scheme,

wherein the Police works in collaboration with the community to bring down the routine
crime in the localities concerned. This model ensured the presence of a uniformed
security personnel at the door step of the citizens as a CPO. They would guard a cluster
of 100 houses each.

Cyber Security Awareness Campaign, Punjab

I have been instrumental in running a social awareness radio campaign with 92.7 Big
FM about cybercrime. It was more oriented towards women, who faces it on daily basis
without knowing that the online harassment they face is a crime and if they make
complaint these crime preparator can be brought to the book.
