| These are the guidelines stpusted by the Minty of Science and Technology (hereinafter the
“1MOst*) ofthe Republe of Cina (hereinafter “Taiwan forthe implementation ofthe Taiwan
Scholarship Program (hereinafter the “Scholrship"), which lms to encowage outstanding
International stents to sty in Taiwan, a well = promote bltral sinticand tecnologia
‘evchares.
‘Those gudeines are not aplicable to students fom Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau
1. Scholarship Recipients and Program Curticlu:
‘The Scholarship, in princi, s granted to stents hereinafter he “Scholarship Recipient from

VL. Scholarship quotas wil be formulated on a yary bai according ta the MOST snl budget. AN

OC embassies, consulates, representative ofces and their Branch offices (hereinafter the
"diplomatic missions”) by December 31 each year.
YN, Scholarship Applicants shall meet the folowing contions:

il, Appliation Process
1. Diplomatic Misons shall daw up their own general application rules based on these
{guidelines and selection requirements and cooperate wit the local goverment and research
institutions to handle the pplation and selection of the scholarship cording. Before
Janwary 31 ofeach yar, the ciplomati missions shal announce the detalsf the Scholarship
to the local residents through Chinese and foreign language pamphlets (whieh include
selection cers, numberof ects, processes and scheduling nfrmatin et)

The yearly application period is, in principe, fom February 1 to March 31. However, the

(6) For those apoving for degree programs taught in Chinese, a photocopy af a TOCFL
Listening and Reading transit or ertticate for Level 20° above.

Scholarship Recipients shall be selected based upon thelr ably to poate the scentc

has been approved to enter a PAO program, the recpent must fill ow and submit the
scholarship application though one’s tending insttaton the recipies report card in
Taiwan, and te Letter of Approval to enal nthe PHO program to the MOST fr approval
and change ofthe Scholarship Recipient’ level and pod. The MOST wil then notify the

4 When a Scholarship Rebentwansers schools or programs the orginal tending istitton
shal state the recipients status and the beginning and expiration date ofthe Scholarship
Recipient's ward period, nd report the information nalter to the nstition to which the
recipient is transfering, The transfer Inston shall exress consent and the date the
Scholarship Recipient enol in the insttion, and then repor the information na ete to
both the Scholarship Recipient and the previous attending institution. Both the previous
attending and vansferinsttutlon shall then not va eter containing the aforementioned

3. Verifying stipend esbursements: According to the Guidelines for Managerent of Pay Orders,
educational institutions shall compile signed stipend receipts or other documents that prove
stipends have been deposited in the recipient's bank acount, along witha MOST Funding
Balance Sheet forveriiation, Any remaining balance must be returned 2 the MOST.
