    Tutorial-Driven Precast Pile Estimation

    Develop the cost estimate of the driven precast reinforced concrete pile 150mm x 150mm x
    6.00m based on the following data:

    Crane rental 25 ton = RM 500/day


    (Operator and fuel consumption included)

    Cost of rental piling driving frame = RM 500/day


    (Operator and fuel consumption included)

    Piling driving frame capacity = 10 piling point/day


    1 piling point = 1 first piling (12.00m) and 3 extension pile (6.00m) length.

    Cost of general worker = RM 75/person


    Cost of skill worker = RM 150/person

    2. Tutorial-Cutting of Pile
    Develop the cost estimate for cut off top of piles to the required levels with the following
    parameter given as below :

    Rental cost for drilling hammer = RM 30.00/day (50% Fuel)


    Rental for oxy acetylene gas cutter = RM 100.00/day (50% for gas)
    Backhoe rental = RM400/day
    Rental cost of 10 tonne lorry(assume) = RM 450 - 12 piles (6.00m length)
    Cutting pile by skill workers = 10 No./day
    Cutting reinforcement bar by skill workers = 60 No./day
    Time for loading piling head = 2 hours/ lorry
    Total cutting of piling head in quantity = 800 No.
    Lorry trip = 4 trip/day
    1 General Worker = RM 75.00
    1 Skill Worker = RM 120.00
    Cut-off length = 10% of pile-extension
     1 Skill labour for cutting of reinforcement bar
     1 General worker for cutting of pile head
     2 General workers for loading pile head
     2 general workers for transporting pile head
     15 % profit margin

    Cost/m = RM1375.00/(12.00m + 18.00m) 10 point = RM 4.58
    15% profit and overhead = RM 1.13
    Cost /m = RM 5.27

    2. Cutting off concrete pile head

    Cost of rental for driller hammer = RM 30.00


    50% for fuel consumption = RM 15.00

    Labour cost
    (1 General Worker) = RM 75.00
    Total cost for demolishing pile head = RM 120.00

    Cost cutting off pile/ No = RM 120.00 / 10 No = RM 12/nos

    Cutting off reinforcement bar

    Rental cost for oxy acetylene cutter = RM 100.00


    50% for oxy acetylene gas = RM 50.00

    Labour cost
    1 skill worker/day = RM 120.00

    Total cost/day = RM 270.00

    Cost for cutting of reinforcement/No = RM270.00/60No. = RM 4.5


    Pile Head Demolish Loading
    Length of cutting pile = 6.00m x 10/100 = 0.60m
    Maximum load for lorry = 12Nos. x 6.00m/0.60m = 120 Nos.

    Backhoe rental 25 ton = RM 400.00

    Labour cost
    2 General worker = 2 x RM 75.00 = RM 150.00
    Total cost for loading/day = RM 550.00

    Loading cost/Nos. = RM 550.00 x 2 hours/ 8 hours x 120 = RM 1.15

    Cost for transportation

    Rental cost for 5 tonne lorry = RM 450.00

    Labour cost
    2 Nos of General workers = 2 x RM75.00 = RM150.00
    Total cost/ day = RM 600.00

    Lorry trip = 800Nos/ 120Nos = 7 trip

    Total cost for transportation = RM 600.00 x 7 trip/ 4 trip = RM 1,050.00

    Transportation cost/Nos. = RM 1,050.00/800Nos. = RM 1.31

    Unloading cost/ Nos. = RM 1.15 (same with loading cost)

    Total cost = RM 20.9
