Activity Plan

Age/Grade: Kindergarten

Curricular Domain: Cognitive

Objectives: Students will be given 10 plastic puppies and will count the number of puppies, out

loud, from 0-10. Then they will select a card that represents the number of total puppies. The

children will be able to…

 Count from 0-10 and learning the sequence of counting.

 Understand that the last number counted is the total number of puppies and not just the

name of the last puppy.

Materials: Plastic Puppy toys

Activity: Students will be given a total of 10 plastic puppies and will count the number of

puppies there are out loud and then pick a card from the deck that represents the total number of

puppies. Each round there will be a different number of puppies, starting with 0 puppies and

ending with 10 puppies total.

Scaffolding: Sequencing, memory, counting, number names, verbal skills.
