Less active students attend learning activities in the classroom, due to the
lecturing method and focused in one direction (teaching centre) which is still used
by teachers to give the material to the students. It cause the learning outcomes of
students who obtained lower. Threfore, this study aims to determine how much
the improvement of learning outcomes and students participation after
implementation of Brainstorming learning model on Pekerjaan Dasar Teknik
Otomotif (PDTO) subject at tenth grade student in SMK Negeri 3 Yogyakarta.
This research is a classroom action research with learning model used is
a model of Brainstorming. The students of class X TKR 2 became the subject of
research in the academic year 2015/2016, with a number of 29 students. The
observed object is learning outcomes and students participation. The data
collecting technique used in the research was objective test and observation
sheet. The data analysis was descriptive analysis and central tendency statistic
technique.
The results showed that the implementation of Brainstorming learning
model can improve learning outcomes and students participation at each cycle. It
can be proved by (1) Applied Brainstorming learning model is proved to improve
students learning outcomes by 27%. (2) Students participation proved to increase
with the implemantation of Brainstorming learning model by 21%.
