Abraham Lincoln was born in a log cabin in Kentucky,
on February 12, 1809. Abe had many chores like, fetching water from the creek, chopping firewood, and helping his father plant seeds. There were too many chores to be done on the farm, so Abe went to school for less than a year. However that didn’t stop his love for learning or reading! Abraham became a lawyer. He was so trusted by people that he became a politician. In 1860, Lincoln became the 16th president of the United States. Abraham Lincoln gave a famous speech called the Gettysburg Address. Where he spoke about freedom and equality for ALL. On April 14, 1865 President Lincoln was attending a play but was assassinated by a man named John Wilkes Booth. Today we remember Abraham Lincoln for his courage, in many special ways.
